barielle-wildflower-collection-spring-2010 For spring 2010, get rooted into style with six new nail polish hues from Shades by Barielle. The Wildflower Collection blooms with floral-themed colors and Barielle’s signature healthy “3-free” formulation. Lending a helping hand to root out ovarian cancer, 100% of proceeds from three shades from the collection will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund when purchased at www.ocrf.org.

Launching this February, the Wildflower collection from Shades by Barielle includes three polishes designed by Creative Director Elle to help fight Ovarian Cancer.  With two blues and two greens including some unique glitter accents, I’m smitten with the charitable concept and the colors.  The collection doesn’t launch for a couple months but I’ve got a preview of the bottles and Junebug for you to check out.

CND Monday – Oilslick and Raisin In The Sun Layering

alu-cnd-monday-oilslick-raisin-sun Welcome to CND Monday, a regular series here on ALU. Each week I’ll be sharing a new layering combination from CND Colour & Effects to show you the versatility and creativity of the line.

One of my favorite CND polishes from the old line is NFS, a deep teal-based green with subtle tonal shimmer.  You know me and my greens.  It’s a shame NFS has reached hard-to-find status but I was pleased to hear that the new Colour & Effects line included a blackened green, Oilslick, in the lineup.

Up until now I’ve only shown layering combinations using the Effects but I discovered a great combo with the Colours during New York Fashion Week.  The CND Team raved about the look they created for Monique Lhuillier’s collection using Oilslick, Raisin in the Sun and Super Matte top coat.  Check out my re-creation after the jump!

china-glaze-up-and-away-collection-spring-2010 Here we go Fanatics.  It’s time to round out the China Glaze Up & Away collection.  This new lineup of pastels and brights for Spring 2010 includes a set of four pink/coral shades in a range of hues to satisfy the cool and warm toned Fanatics out there.

I think we all know by now that this range of colors isn’t necessarily my cup of tea.  Give me something that will make people stop and stare and I’m all over it (hello Re-Fresh Mint!).  However, I did end up shocking myself by becoming smitten with a couple of these beauties.  Find out which ones curled my toes, after the jump!

Priti Powderpuff Cactus & A Discovery

priti-powder-puff-cactus-bottle Last week I posted about Priti’s Tulip Tree Teal and since it was a new-to-me brand, I did my usual 5-Day Wear Test.  Being that I had Priti’s own base and top coat on hand, I decided to give those a whirl as well.  A lot of brands claim that their polishes work best when combined with their own treatment products so I wanted to put that theory to the test.  I chose Powderpuff Cactus for my trial run.

Also, thanks to all you investigative Fanatics, especially Flinty from Polish or Perish, I also discovered something new about Priti’s product line.  Find out what and see how Powderpuff Cactus fared in my wear test, after the jump!
