If the Spring 2014 runways taught us anything, it’s that the neutral nail is coming back in a big way. Hold on to your seats, color lovers, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. Kicking off the trend is the Zoya Naturel nail polish collection, launching January 1st, 2014.
The natural nail only better… The Zoya Nail Polish Naturel collection masters delicate tone on tone color with six new, full-coverage (opaque) neutral nudes with a pink undertone, that can be worn beautifully alone or stunningly together to create modern tonal accents.
The Look: It’s not about matching – it’s about coordinating colors with slight tonal differences to create interest.
And to drive “The Look” home, Zoya has provided some nail art ideas, below, for wearing Naturel. Keep reading to get an up close look at the shades.
A sucker for fab packaging, I regretted missing out on the gorgeous Diorific nail polishes in last year’s Dior Holiday collection. This year, I got an early look at two of the shades from the Dior Holiday 2013 lineup, Frimas and Minuit.
As crazy as it is to even be talking about holiday colors, they’ll be on shelves before you know it. These should be out before the end of September and I’ll have a full review closer to the launch date but I couldn’t resist sharing.
Do you get sucked in by fab packaging? Which of these colors are calling your name?
When I think of Carrie Underwood, I always picture her in gold dress. Probably because she wears gold so well on a red carpet. Which is why I was thrilled to hear that in her new partnership with Nicole by OPI, there will be a signature gold nail polish shade created specifically for the country diva.
Nicole by OPI Announces Partnership with Six-Time Grammy Winner Carrie Underwood for 2014
Nicole by OPI announces 14 new nail lacquers inspired by award-winning superstar Carrie Underwood. Available in January, this collection features a colorful mosaic of hues ranging from soft pastels to dark sultry shades to playful glitters. Additionally, the line will include a signature gold textured shade called Carrie’d Away, created exclusively for Carrie.
“This is the first time Nicole by OPI has ever designed a signature shade for one of our celebrity partners! We are excited to share this news with both music and nail fans – isn’t that everyone?” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Nicole by OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.
“In working closely with Carrie, we came up with 14 nail lacquers that truly encapsulate her soulful spirit and showcase different facets of her personality,” adds Weiss-Fischmann. “With shades as American as Apple Pie, you’ll get Carrie’d Away by her Southern Charm!”
I have to say, I’m pleased to see Nicole by OPI partnering with someone who is such a great role model for their younger demographic and I can’t wait to see what Carrie’d Away will look like. Even though I’m not a country music fan by any stretch of the imagination, I’ve always enjoyed Carrie’s catchier, pop tunes and loved her on American Idol, back when I still watched it religiously.
What do you hope this partnership will bring? Are you happy to hear that NOPI is working with Carrie Underwood?

DL was so accessible when it was carried at Bath & Body Works, many moons ago, and while I’m lucky enough to have a Nordstrom nearby, that’s not the case for everyone. This new partnership will introduce Deborah Lippmann’s creations to a whole new audience.
To celebrate, Deb created an exclusive collection of nail colors, just for Sephora.
Deborah Lippmann Lilac Win, Chasing Pavements and She Bop will retail for $17/ea. The glittery 99 Luftballoons for $19/ea.
If you haven’t tried the brand before, here are some of my favorite shades. Top row: Don’t Tell Mama, Waking Up In Vegas, Today Was A Fairytale (glitter top coat). Middle Row: Do The Mermaid, Across The Universe, Mermaid’s Kiss. Bottom Row: I Know What Boys Like, Billionaire.
What are your favorite Deborah Lippmann shades? Which colors from the Sephora-exclusive collection do you plan to check out?
CND revolutionized the nail salon industry when they brought Shellac into the world and they’re poised to do it again with a new product called VINYLUX.
I’ve long been a fan of the CND Colour & Effects nail polish line for its quality formula but it was overshadowed by the popularity of Shellac. When I inquired about the state of Colour & Effects last fall I was told to get ready for an amazing new technology come spring and it’s finally here.
VINYLUX is a Weekly Nail Polish that uses no base coat and a top coat that gets more durable with natural light exposure. Are you getting what I’m putting down? That’s right, this is technology that gives long lasting, high gloss wear with no UV/LED exposure and it removes like regular nail polish!
