OPI Show Us Your Tips! – Spring 2016 New Orleans

Happy Mani Monday! How many of you are dragging after staying up to watch the Oscars? Guilty! Between that and the mountain of homework I’ve been tackling (I’m taking FIVE classes this semester), this morning came way too early, so I want to brighten our day with my latest color obsession. I am swooning over OPI Show Us Your Tips! from the Spring 2016 New Orleans collection.

Did you have a favorite crayon as a kid? Was it just me? Mine was definitely Cornflower. It’s the cat of the Crayola box in that you have to work for its affection. Cornflower was probably the least pigmented crayon, so you really had to work to get that beautiful purple-tinged blue to come through on paper. In a lot of ways, Show Us Your Tips! is similar.

OPI Show Us Your Tips! is a vivid cornflower with iridescent glass-flecks (and you know how I feel about those), but it’s a little sheer. Even after three coats I can see my nail underneath when I get all up close and personal with it, but that color makes me say, “Who cares?!?” It’s one of the best colors OPI has put out and a definite must-have in my book.

I’m working on my full OPI NOLA review, but in the meantime I’ve been wearing this color out so get involved! The OPI Spring 2016 collection is available now at salons and mass retailers nationwide. You can snag it online at Amazon.com, ULTA.com and SallyBeauty.com.

What’s on your nails for this Mani Monday? Have you picked up SUYT! yet? Let me know in the comments!

    That’s a nice color!

  2. Can’t wait for your full review and comparison! I liked cornflower for the name and was always a little fascinated with blue-green (was there a green-blue?) and red-orange vs. Orange-red.

  3. Rach says:

Favorite crayon … hmm. I do not remember at all, but let’s say cerulean. (And then the whole 8-pack of fluorescent neon crayons because they were the shit.) Now that I’ve seen OPI New Orleans in person, I totally get the hype over this polish and Humiditea! Gonna max out all my Ulta coupons on this shit. :)

  4. Magda says:

You said the magic word… Cornflower. I can’t resist this colour, even though I have dozens of cornflower polishes. I have to have this one too! :)

  5. Mary says:

Cornflower was my favorite color in the box, too! I’ll have to check this out. Lovely swatch.

  6. Jacky says:

I just ordered that online last night, and I’m so glad I did! Such a beautiful color. And I’m right with you on the cornflower crayon. My favorite too. :)

  7. Jacky says:

Oh, and I forgot. lol Such beautiful swatches! I’d have ordered it from those even if I hadn’t already. :)

  8. Charli says:

cornflower was my favorite crayola color, too. I just love periwinkles. I’m sad that its sheer, but I have a couple creme periwinkles that I can probably layer underneath no problem.

  9. Stephanie says:

That color looks great on you! I just picked up “Spare Me A French Quarter” and “I Manicure For Beads” and can’t wait to try them!

  10. Cath says:

LOVE your analogy of Show Us Your Tips! to the Crayola crayon! That’s EXACTLY what I thought when I first saw it!
I’m sporting this on my nails right now, and I must say that it is exactly the same as what I see in your pic – it pulls more purply shades on me, showing more lavender than cornflower. Thank you for your brilliant swatch!

  11. Wow it is a truly gorgeous colour! I think my favourite Crayola crayon as a child was Tickle Me Pink :) I just thought it was such a cute name!
