Orly Plastix Satin Finish Nail Polish Swatches & Review

orly-plastix-collection-fall-2010 “Gretchen, stop trying to make FETCH happen! It’s not going to happen!” – Regina George leader of “The Plastics” in Mean Girls.

For the past year now nail polish brands have been trying to “make fetch happen” with a seemingly never ending barrage of matte nail polishes.  My lazy, always-running-late self loves mattes for their quick dry time and I know I’m not alone but the detractors seem to be in the majority.  I get it.  The wear issues and flat wall paint finish aren’t exactly selling points and most certainly deal breakers for a lot of you.

Enter Orly’s twist on the game, the Plastix Collection, a set of four satin lacquers.  Like their Nails For Males and now discontinued Matte Top Coat these polishes dry with a semi-gloss “plastic” finish.  This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this type of finish but it hasn’t come in fun colors until now.  The Fall runways featured lots of satin nails as well which is why I’m declaring Satin is the new Matte.

Coming Soon – Chanel Paradoxal and A New Blue

Chanel-paradox-nail-polish-Fall-Makeup-Collection-2010 Back in March during the Chanel Fall 2010 runway show we learned that Chanel Global Creative Makeup Director Peter Philips was bringing back Jade Rose from the Jade Collection this Fall.

Jade Rose was kind of lost in the craze over Jade last year so it gets a second chance at stardom. Though thanks to my girl Izzy from Musings of a Muse we see that Jade Rose has some stiff competition in the murky purple-tinged Paradoxal. I know I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

chanel-cruise-baby-blue-nail-polish In other Chanel news, the Cruise 2010-2011 collection made its runway debut this week with the models sporting both Jade Rose and an unnamed baby blue nail polish that will be released sometime in the future. If history tells us anything, I’m thinking we may see this as part of a limited edition collection a la the Paris Shanghai and Paris Moscou collections.

OPI Swiss Collection for Fall 2010 Preview

opi-swiss-collection-fall-2010 Happy Friday Fanatics!  The Fall promos are on a roll and today I have images of the OPI Swiss collection.

As you can see, we have another lovely looking green headed our way as well as some cool blues but I’m surprised at the number of reds.  We know from history that the holiday collection will launch not not long after and will include six reds so this seems like overkill to me.  I get that their flag is red but how about a fab sparkling white then?

Get an up close look at the collection after the jump!
