ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Dangerous

obsessive compulsive cosmetics dangerous nail polish from occ makeup 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

A few days ago a reader asked me on Twitter if I had tried the nail polish from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. While I’m fan of, and have previously raved over, the OCC Lip Tars, I have yet to try any of the OCC nail polishes I have in my stash.

The color range from OCC is filled with a lot of staples, as any line should, but then there are these bright pops of funky colors like a swampy green, brushed silver metallic and school bus yellow. I was drawn to OCC Dangerous, a rich creamy grey.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – Chanel Graphite from the Illusions d’Ombres de Chanel Fall 2011 Collection

chanel graphite nail polish from the fall 2011 illusions d'ombres de chanel collection 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

My friend Nancy from Beauty 411 is what you might call a Chanel connoisseur. She knows the makeup line inside and out and every season she is first in line to take home her favorite pieces from the collection, especially the nail colors.

When pictures first surfaced of a silver metallic Chanel nail polish from backstage at Paris Fashion Week, Nance was the first person to ask me about it on Twitter. At the time, the images I saw didn’t wow me. Another foil metallic, how original.

I told her I didn’t expect Chanel Graphite to be anything special and even after I could see it in person I was feeling kind of “meh” about it. Well, now you get to watch me eat my words.

zoya touch collection nail polishes, zoya pandora, zoya minka & zoya shay 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

I’ve been on this odd beige neutrals kick lately. It all started with CND Perfectly Bare and Deborah Lippmann’s Naked and now Zoya comes out with the Touch collection, a specialty set of three undertone-matching beige polishes with a subtle shimmer.

Zoya Nail Polish presents 3 new, full coverage nude creams – softly kissed with a bit of metallic to make them ultra wearable.

It’s so not my color personality but there’s just something about wearing a full coverage neutral that feels so fresh and clean in this sticky summer heat. I honestly don’t know what’s become of me but I don’t see this trend of mine dying off anytime soon.

ALU’s 365 of Untrieds – China Glaze Oxidized Aqua Crackle Glaze Metal

china glaze oxidized aqua nail polish from the china glaze crackle glaze metals collection 365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.

By now you probably are aware that I’m not the biggest fan of the crackle nail polish trend. I’m not hating on it per se, I’m just not fully on board. Something about the first sets of crackles didn’t thrill me. They were chunky looking and felt dated. However, I find myself crying “UNCLE!” ever since the metallic crackles started to pop up. They are definitely a fun twist on an old look and, well, I usually give in to anything sparkly.

Case in point, the China Glaze Crackle Glaze Metals. Foil metallic crackle polish that comes in six colors? Okay, okay I give. It does look pretty cool. See for yourself.

Chanel Fall 2011 Illusions d’Ombres de Chanel Nail Polish Preview

chanel illusions d'ombre de chanel fall 2011 collection Last winter we got a peek at one of the Chanel Fall 2011 nail polishes when Chanel Graphite hit the runway but it’s Chanel Peridot that seems to be getting all the buzz. Is it green? Is it yellow? Are we talking Chanel duo-chrome?

Inspired by the heritage and savoir faire of the artisanal craftsmanship of the House of Chanel, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, introduces new textures and makeup effects in a radiant Fall 2011 Collection, ILLUSIONS D’OMBRES DE CHANEL.

At the heart of this captivating colour story: Shimmering bronze, gold and platinum are the perfect complements to plum, khaki and copper shades on eyes and lips. Unique reflections of metallic green, silver and beige on nails provide the ideal counterpoint.

“Illusion d’Ombre is a new and exciting product, that’s easy to apply,” says Peter Philips. “I would suggest finger application. The texture is unique and has a very pleasant touch.”
