Just hear those sleigh bells jingling, ring-ting-tingling, too
Come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you

-”Sleigh Ride” lyrics by Mitchell Parish

The holidays are coming early kids. Have you made out your wish list? Because I did. Back in January I wished for an emerald green version of China Glaze Ruby Pumps named Emerald City and now it’s been fulfilled. It may not be called Emerald City but you won’t hear me complaining.

I showed you a sneak peak of the polish back in July when I talked about my visit with the women of China Glaze but now you can finally get a bottle of your very own. The Sleigh Ride collection is all you need for a truly blingtastic holiday manicure. Included in the set is the ultimate green dazzler, Emerald Sparkle, a glitzy silver, Tinsel, and core collection best seller, Ruby Pumps. All three are well pigmented, packed with micro-glitter and include that amazing China Glaze jelly finish. The glitter will cause the polishes to dry slightly matte and bumpy but a coat of Seche Vite brings out their brilliance and fire.

Emerald Sparkle! That so deserves an exclamation point. There aren’t enough words for how truly stunning this polish is. I couldn’t dream up a better green shimmer if I tried. Bravo China Glaze! You have just made my year. Not only have you created the perfect green but you made it PIGMENTED. Like seriously pigmented. What you see below is two coats and there’s no sign of nail beneath.

Tinsel will be your go-to color for New Year’s Eve bling. Better yet, can you imagine this icing your Emerald Sparkle tips? Totally over the top and not for everyday but come on, it’s the holidays. Live a little! Now Tinsel is not as pigmented as the other two polishes. What you see is two coats and there is still a bit of tip showing but with three coats, you’re solid.

Ruby Pumps is a classic, jazzy red, glitter bomb. For the past two years, this has been my holiday pedi choice. Originally introduced with the Wizard of Ohh Ahz collection Ruby Rumps is the lone survivor that made the China Glaze core lineup. A brilliant twinkling red, this is a great shade for conservative gals that aren’t ready for green but still want to up the ante on special occasions.
The China Glaze Sleigh Ride collection is on sale now at 8ty8beauty.com and will be arriving soon at Head2ToeBeauty.com. China Glaze is also carried at ULTA and Sally Beauty Supply. Call for seasonal collection availability.

Launching in October, the Chanel Holiday collection is filled with warm, rich tones including one super hot chocolate nail polish.

The collection features three nail colours:

Rosee Perle - a warm beige pink
Dazzling – a red creme (repromote from Holiday 2007)
Haute Chocolat – a gold flecked brown

I’m a sucker for gold, shimmery makeup. I covet my Bobbi Brown gold Shimmer Brick so I’m very curious about this powder.

Chanel teamed up with Seventeen magazine to give their readers a chance to create a nail shade in the Color Of The Year Contest. Thousands of entries were submitted but it was Amy Gonzo’s nail colour name and inspiration that triumphed. Amy, a 19 year-old from Port Washington, WI, drew inspiration from her favorite holiday drink, hot cocoa, and gave it a name with a french twist, Haute Chocolat. Looking back on her favorite holiday memories, Amy “wanted to combine the comfort and warmth of the season with the chic elegance that is indicative of CHANEL.”

Chic, elegant and warm are perfect descriptors for this rich chocolaty lacquer but the gold flecks are what really make it stand out. What I love is that it’s dark without looking black, warm yet not overly red and it flows on the nail like pure molten chocolate.

I dug through my box o’ browns to see if I could find you all a dupe but I came up empty. The majority of my browns are very red based or extremely dark. Only OPI Espresso Your Style and Sally Hansen The Good Earth came close but neither one has Haute Chocolat’s sparkle.

The Chanel Holiday collection will be online at Chanel.com and on counter in October with the Nail Colour retailing for $20. Also, be sure to check out the October issue of Seventeen Magazine (already on stands) to learn more about Haute Chocolat’s creator Amy Gonzo.

Brunch with China Glaze & A Holiday Teaser

One of the highlights of my trip to L.A. in May was getting the opportunity to finally have a face-to-face with the fab team representing China Glaze. Living in the Cleveburg, I don’t run across too many people in my everyday life that really get what I do or my passion for polish. And considering my love for China Glaze lacquers, you can only imagine how jazzed I was for brunch.

From (l-r): Irene, Amy, Me, Anne

Those of you on MySpace or MUA will know Amy as the woman behind the China Glaze IDs. She is the Associate Brand Manager and color genius that dreams up the incredible collections we all freak for. And can I just say that if you’re already drooling over Fall, you’re gonna faint over what’s coming next Spring and Summer. Anne & Irene are the PR & Advertising whizzes that put out all the fun collection images and keep us in the loop on China Glaze news.

Brunch was so much fun and totally delish! Apple stuffed pancakes, need I say more? And lots of time to gab about polish, China Glaze and All Lacquered Up. Though I may have monopolized the convo with my babbling and gushing. Those of you who’ve met me know I can chatter on. But, it was great getting to meet the ladies, share my love of polish with them and learn more about China Glaze and their parent company, AII Beauty.

And then there was my total freak out moment. The second I spotted the most gorgeous green I’ve ever seen and had to resist grabbing Amy’s hands to get a closer look. Green lovers, you are gonna DIE! How many times have we said on the nail board that there needs to be an emerald Ruby Pumps? How many times??? Well it’s here. OMG is it here! Emerald Sparkle will be out this Fall as part of a special two color Holiday collection and it’s oh so gorg!

china glaze, green, nail polish, nail lacquer, nail color, trends, emerald sparkle, holiday 2008 Can you even handle it? I can’t! There will be a full review and swatch images of Emerald Sparkle and its silver counterpart, Tinsel, soon but I couldn’t resist giving you a little peek. Are you like totally in love or what?
