Brunch with China Glaze & A Holiday Teaser

in China Glaze, Green, Holiday 2008, News

One of the highlights of my trip to L.A. in May was getting the opportunity to finally have a face-to-face with the fab team representing China Glaze. Living in the Cleveburg, I don’t run across too many people in my everyday life that really get what I do or my passion for polish. And considering my love for China Glaze lacquers, you can only imagine how jazzed I was for brunch.

From (l-r): Irene, Amy, Me, Anne

Those of you on MySpace or MUA will know Amy as the woman behind the China Glaze IDs. She is the Associate Brand Manager and color genius that dreams up the incredible collections we all freak for. And can I just say that if you’re already drooling over Fall, you’re gonna faint over what’s coming next Spring and Summer. Anne & Irene are the PR & Advertising whizzes that put out all the fun collection images and keep us in the loop on China Glaze news.

Brunch was so much fun and totally delish! Apple stuffed pancakes, need I say more? And lots of time to gab about polish, China Glaze and All Lacquered Up. Though I may have monopolized the convo with my babbling and gushing. Those of you who’ve met me know I can chatter on. But, it was great getting to meet the ladies, share my love of polish with them and learn more about China Glaze and their parent company, AII Beauty.

And then there was my total freak out moment. The second I spotted the most gorgeous green I’ve ever seen and had to resist grabbing Amy’s hands to get a closer look. Green lovers, you are gonna DIE! How many times have we said on the nail board that there needs to be an emerald Ruby Pumps? How many times??? Well it’s here. OMG is it here! Emerald Sparkle will be out this Fall as part of a special two color Holiday collection and it’s oh so gorg!

china glaze, green, nail polish, nail lacquer, nail color, trends, emerald sparkle, holiday 2008 Can you even handle it? I can’t! There will be a full review and swatch images of Emerald Sparkle and its silver counterpart, Tinsel, soon but I couldn’t resist giving you a little peek. Are you like totally in love or what?

Ok, I’m a lurker, but that is so gorgeous I had to comment. I love my Ruby Pumps and cannot wait for this green!

  2. Liz says:

Green version of Ruby Pumps? My husband has just come downstairs to ask what all the screaming is about – fantastic!

  3. dwj says:

Okay, there is a green version of the ruby pumps. Christian Louboutin makes these wonderfully sparkly green pair of peep toes (I blogged about them and all things green for a week!) that I will never be able to afford but will lust over forever. They’re amazing and that nail polish color is almost the exact same color! Fabulous!!!

  4. tooshytostop says:

How cool! That must have been a really great experience. And I love the green color too. Thanks for sharing! =)

  5. Lindsey says:

Okay, so now that I’ve finished spazzing…you are so lucky to have met the ChG team! And OMG, a green Ruby Pumps?? I can’t wait!

No I can not handle it! OMG ChG Is really coming out with some great colors. I am for sure grabbing that one and I am not even a green wearer.

  13. rose says:

OK, I know I’m the lone voice of dissent here, but I don’t see the attraction of these dark and emerald greens. They look very Wet ‘N Wild to me, very 1996. I would be happy with an olive or hunter green creme if anyone wants to make that for me…
I am happy you guys are getting what you’ve been waiting for though!

O…M…..G…. That is the green polish to end all green polishes!!! Thank you SO much for sharing that picture. I’ll be dreaming about that polish for months!

  16. Dramaqueenie2 says:

This is a beautiful polish. I am so glad that ChG finally listened. I wish it was called Emerald City and that they would bring back the Qizard of Ohh Ahz line to promoti it, but we’ll take what we can get!

I hope when you do a full review, you also swatch it with Sinful San Francisco for comparison. I think San Fran is a little bluer, but it is hard to tell without a side-by-side comparison.

  17. hontapocasgreen says:

oh my! oh my! I'm not a green nail polish person, but I tell you, this one right here…woooooo! This definitely your type of color! This is so perfect for the Holidays, and the long awaited answer to many MUA nailboarders requests. I only hope Tinsel is just a fabulous. I love the look of it & thanks for posting!!!

  18. stubby..... says:

  28. Lina-Elvira says:

My colleagues thought I had stabbed myself with the scissors when I shrieked with joy at the picture!! :D Wow!! I’m in love. I won’t sleep till I have it!!

I was also secretly hoping to see pics of ChG team nails but no luck :P They having the pick of the crop probably had ace nails :)

  31. CincyFan says:

Holy crow you guys! I knew you’d be excited but wow, what a response. I’m glad you are as over the moon as I am.

Robin – Thanks for coming out from the shadows. Can you imagine a Ruby Pumps/Emerald Sparkler funky french for Christmas? Over the top, for sure but, totally fun!

Liz – We’re peas in a pod doll! It’s worth screaming over.

DWJ – Thanks for sharing. If only I could afford such a glam pair of shoes.

Amy – We wear black to let our nails take center stage. :D That sounds convincing, right?

Tammi – I’m guess because it’s a pretty true green, not too blue or golden that it will work for most people.

Rose – I know sparkly green is a bit much for a lot of people so feel free to stand your ground. But if you’re looking for a great green creme, try Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle.

Stubby & mandms – I did see the new RBL's and to be honest, from the descriptions they sound sheer. Not very me. If the yellow is opaque, I'm all over it.

tabe-chan – THANK YOU for alerting me to that site. People that steal pics SUCK!

Faye – You can buy China Glaze core colors at Sally Beauty Supply or call around to your local salons. Online you can get them from 8ty8beauty.com or Head2ToeBeauty.com

  32. Sminkan says:

  34. Amber says:

Oh, Michelle. I’m not even a green polish kind of gal and I am in LOVE with that shade. LOVE. I must buy that IMMED. PS I’ve seen Wet Hot American Summer, but not The Ten! I need to look into that, stat.

    xo,
    Amber

  35. Lengthy Tresses says:

This is a gorgoeus green! About time too! I WILL be buying this!
