Every time I visit Sephora or ULTA, I find myself perusing the brush and tool aisle, trying to rationalize why I need a specific brush, to go along with my 30+ brushes at home, or yet another pair of tweezers. I swear, they’re like the missing socks of beauty. Mine constantly disappear.
9 times out of 10, I leave tool-land empty-handed because I can’t justify the price when nail polish falls much higher on my hierarchy of needs. Enter, Urban Beauty United, a new-to-the-US line of affordable brushes and tools that include your everyday basics plus some standout items.
Take the UBU Minnie Me’s Mini Tweezer Set ($9.95, Amazon.com), for example. You get every tweezer shape you could ever need, in a mini size, for under $10. Perfect for travel, or in your nail art kit for placing/removing tape.
And while I’ve become a Beauty Blender devotee, every time I plunk down $20 for a new one, my wallet whimpers. The UBU Blender Baby Foundation Sponge ($7.99, Amazon.com) is more firm than the Beauty Blender but, when used side-by-side, my foundation looks just as good. The only downside is not having the pointy tip for hard-to-reach areas.
Even though I haven’t tried it, I’ve already added the UBU Lash App False Eyelash Applicator ($4.99, Amazon.com) to my Amazon cart. I have never successfully applied false lashes on my own so, for a fiver, it’s worth a try.
Urban Beauty United brushes and tools are launching this spring in the US, online at Amazon.com.
