I Want To Go Back To There – My Perfect Tuscan Day
Is there a day, just one day, that you wish you could relive over and over again? One that brings you such joy that, even thinking about it years later, instantly brings a smile to your face?
Even though it’s been over a decade since my trip to Italy, there was one magical day in Tuscany that was so perfect and complete, I could exist in it for the rest of my life.
Even now, I can recall every second like it was yesterday; the winery tour, the olive oil tasting, learning to make pasta in a thousand year-old home, soaking in the sun in an olive grove and spending it all with the love of my life.

The China Glaze App – Now for Android!
Over the past couple years, I’ve been pitched numerous times about new mobile apps for nail polish fanatics and they have always been solely for iPhone/iPad users. Since I don’t recommend anything I can’t personally test myself, I haven’t posted about them, until now.
China Glaze launched their China Glaze App last spring and now us #TeamAndroid peeps can get in on the action.

What’s unique about this free app is the “Match A Color” functionality. You simply take a picture of an object, click on a spot you want to color match, and get a list of China Glaze nail polish suggestions.
I took a picture of the Bobbi Brown Navy nail polish I posted earlier today and Man Hunt and First Mate are great alternatives, though not dupes. Lighting definitely alters the suggestions you get.

The app also features the latest collection releases, videos and a “Try It On” feature that is, honestly, not that accurate as all the shades look like cremes. You can also “favorite” shades and share your finds on social media.
The China Glaze App is available now for free in the Google Play store and iTunes.

Makeup Wars – Favorite Fall 2013 Nail Polish
This week’s Makeup Wars theme is a natural fit for me, Favorite Fall 2013 Nail Polish shades. As much as I enjoy talking all things beauty, obviously nail polish is all me, all day!
Jewel tones are having a major moment this season which means my fave nail shades (green, blue and purple) are in the forefront. I couldn’t be happier about it. From drugstore to salon to prestige, there are tons of great jewel-toned hues to choose from and I’m sharing my top picks with you today.

Wake Up Pretty with All Lacquered Up at Nordstrom’s Pretty Party
So the past few of days have been a bit nerve-wracking. I spilled water on my laptop and have been in full freak-out mode, hoping it would turn on. Obviously it did, thanks to advice from the Twitterverse, and I have some fun news to share.
My local Nordstrom at Beachwood Place, is hosting a Pretty Party next weekend and they’ve asked me to be a part of their “Wake Up Pretty” trend event next Saturday, October 19th! I’ll be presenting, along with speakers covering makeup and skin care, talking about nail color trends for Fall and Holiday 2013. So exciting!
If you’re free next Saturday and would like to attend, there are 40 tickets left (out of 200). The event begins at 8:30 am (early, I know!) and your $20 ticket is redeemable for $20 worth of product PLUS you get an iPad case, a signature tote bag filled with a bundle of cosmetics and light refreshments will be served. If that’s not a reason to get up early on a Saturday, I don’t know what is.
After the event, manicurists will be on hand to apply any nail color purchases you make.
