Current Obsession – Zoya Crystal Nail Polish

zoya crystal flame collection holiday 2010 Current Obsession Zoya Crystal Nail PolishI’ve been experiencing a major nail polish depression of late.  I’m having issues finding polishes that truly thrill me to my core.  It’s not that I’m not enjoying polish or anything but I haven’t had too many OH.MY.GOD. moments this fall.

I don’t know what it is but I feel like everything “new” that comes out is something I’ve seen before.  That is until I put Zoya Crystal on my nails.  I didn’t just have an OMG moment.  More like an OMFG IT’S BEAUTIFUL moment.  I’m so smitten with the color I’ve worn it three, THREE, times.  Once for eight days and it still looked fab!  And if that’s not telling of my adoration, I don’t know what is.

Crystal is the star of the Zoya Flame collection for Winter 2010 and if you keep reading, you’ll see why.

Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rain, Dear & Midnight Mambo

sephora opi midnight mambo looks like rain dear holiday 2010 Sephora by OPI Looks Like Rain, Dear & Midnight MamboThis past weekend the boyfriend and I went to Pittsburgh to visit with friends.  I also went to see Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang Tour Saturday night.

I am a religious Chelsea Lately watcher and I adore her on the show but her stand up was a REAL disappointment.  As Chelsea would say, “It’s not great!” Her behavior was so manic you would think she was having an episode on stage. Like to the point that I was worried about her.  And her act was so old that I remembered some parts from her 2007 Comedy Central Presents show. Time for some new material Chelsea.

Anywho, I wanted a blingy manicure for the weekend and two of the Sephora by OPI polishes I purchased during the Friends & Family sale called out to me.  A reader suggested that I try Looks Like Rain, Dear but Midnight Mambo looked really pretty as well so I decided to combine them into a multi-colored mani.

China Glaze Holiday 2010 – Blue & Greens Swatches, Review & Comparisons

china glaze holiday 2010 green blue bottles China Glaze Holiday 2010 Blue & Greens Swatches, Review & ComparisonsChina Glaze has definitely been Naughty AND Nice this year.  Nice for releasing so many cute holiday gift sets and a fun range of colors but Naughty for overwhelming us with so many options.

Unlike the past few years where they’ve released just a few holiday shades, for Holiday 2010 the ‘Tis The Season to be naugty and nice collection consists of 16 nail polishes.  That’s right, SIXTEEN!

To make it easier to take in, I’ve broken down the collection into its three main color families; Blue & Green, White, Silver & Gold and Red & Vampy.  We’ll start with my obvious favorite the lone blue (Little Drummer Boy), three greens (Jolly Holly, Mistletoe Kisses, Peace On Earth) and the multi-colored glitter bomb (Party Hearty).

A Manicure So Tough, Not Even NYC Can Wear It Down

nyc manicure lippmann lancome A Manicure So Tough, Not Even NYC Can Wear It DownAs you know I was in NYC for Halloween weekend with the boyfriend and per my usual travel ritual I was up late the night before we left. I did actually get five hours sleep with is a record for me. Baby steps…

Anywho, as I tend to do, I gave myself a middle of the night manicure, procrastinating because I couldn’t decide on a color. Unlike my trips to NYC for Fashion Week, I wasn’t going to be changing my color daily so I wanted something that would not only last but go with every outfit I packed. Finally, around 2 am, I pulled out the polishes I bought the day before, determined to wear something new. Little did I know, the combination I ended up choosing would last me 7+ days with barely any tip wear.

Read on to see my manicure with Lancôme Les Rouge L’Wren and Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow and check out some pics from my trip.
