You guys, I had the absolute best time this weekend, #NAILGATING with my blogging buddy Brooke from Blushing Noir as part of our partnership with COVERGIRL in support of their beauty sponsorship of the NFL.
We got Fanicures together, went #Nailgating with fellow Cleveland Browns & Pittsburgh Steelers fans and weathered the freezing temps to watch the Steelers kick my team’s butt (that part was more fun for Brooke than me).
Pre-Gaming at Oscar Giovanni Salon & Spa
The weekend started out with meeting Brooke at Oscar Giovanni Salon & Spa in Concord to get our official team Fanicures. First of all, Brooke is just as entertaining as I thought she’d be. Full of sass and charm, she’s one of those people you instantly want to befriend. And thankfully, her hubby is just as spirited since we left him and my boyfriend at a bar together for two hours.
Second, Chrissy and Jenna at Oscar Giovanni did a bang up job on our Fanicures. The Steelers diamonds are no easy task but Chrissy knocked it out of the park and Jenna stepped up the Browns more simplistic nail art by adding a football to my ring finger. I really can’t thank them enough.
I was up bright and early for #NAILGATING and one look at the weather told me to pile on the layers. Even though after I put on the thermals, turtleneck, sweatshirt and coat I would end up all, “Ralphie, I can’t put my arms down!” I had to make sure my makeup was on point.
Thanks to COVERGIRL, I had some new-to-me products to try out. The COVERGIRL Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Melted Caramel Flame made a great base for my eye look. It’s super blendable, doesn’t crease and once it sets, it SETS!
I topped it with COVERGIRL Flamed Out Shadow Pots in Melted Caramel and Scorching Cocoa, using COVERGIRL Ink It! liner in Cocoa Ink and COVERGIRL Flamed Out Mascara to complete the look (the brush actually fans out your inner and outer lashes). A swipe of COVERGIRL Lipslicks Smoochies Lip Balm in LUV BUG and I was good to go.
I have to give mass props Ink It! for not smudging through all the wind-caused eye tearing and Smoochies Lip Balm for keep my lips from chapping in the cold, dry air.
Due to the frigid temps and high winds, #NAILGATING at the Dock 20 lot was out but that didn’t stop us. We hit up the bars on W. 6th in Cleveland’s Warehouse District to meet with fans and share the COVERGIRL Beauty Playbook filled all 32 NFL team’s Fanicures.
Then it was time to trek to First Energy Stadium. Since both teams had matching records going in, I had high hopes for a Browns win. There was an electricity in the air and I even got goosebumps when the usual “We Are Cleveland” banner was replaced with one celebrating the storied rivalry between the Browns & Steelers.
Unfortunately, the cards weren’t in our favor but we had a blast, spreading the #NAILGATING love and cheering through every first down and small victory the Browns could get. Remember Steelers, we have one game left, on your turf, and payback is a ….
Finally, thanks to those of you who shared your virtual #NAILGATING nail art with me. WH985 showed her love of the New Orleans Saints, while KraseyFitBeauty is all about the New York Jets and Agareau11 joined me with a Browns Fanicure. Great work ladies!
There’s still time to support your favorite NFL team by #NAILGATING wearing your team’s Fanicure on any given Sunday. The season’s not over yet. Head to COVERGIRL.com/NFL to discover your teams’s design and find out how to get the look.
Thanks again to COVERGIRL and my blogging-partner-in-crime Brooke from Blushing Noir for a fabulous weekend! It made the Browns loss a much easier pill to swallow.
Do you wear nail art to support your favorite teams? Do you enjoy going to games or watching from the comfort of your home?
