Swatch Request Sunday – Blues and Greens and Berries, Oh My!

I was a busy beaver yesterday, running errands and the like before heading to a Cinco De Mayo party so this week it’s Swatch Request Sunday.

Blues and greens are still on your radar but some purples and berries were added to the mix. To those of you that didn’t get your swatch requests fulfilled, I didn’t forget about you. I still have them on my list and will try to address them next weekend.

When I reviewed the Misa Living On The Fast Lane collection, I mentioned that Push Upon It is a “long lost twin” of OPI Miami Beet. Reader Amanda wrote in asking for proof. Here you go Amanda, I hope this saves you some money. While Miami Beet is a tad brighter, I wouldn’t suggest spending money on both.
After posting about Milani Totally Cool, Lena asked to see it up against fan favorite Zoya Yasmeen. Yasmeen is a richer, warmer, deeper plum as compared to blue based glitter bomb Totally Cool.
Reader crotchfairy wants to see how Illamasqua’s Rampage compares to Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle. While the shades are close, Rampage is a bit brighter and less pigmented requiring three coats to Recycle’s two.

I assume in the hopes of saving some $$$, MoonChaii requested a comparison between China Glaze Bahamian Escape and Essie Shelter Island. Unfortunately, they are not twins. B.E. is lighter and more pigmented compared to S.I.’s jelly like consistency.
And to finish out the week we have your top request, dusty greens Essie Greenport and Misa Dirty Sexy Money. DSM’s deep, slightly muddy hue may have caused the boyfriend to say “eww” but I’m all over it. And as you can see, it has no close relatives.
That’s it for this week kids. If you have a request, leave a comment or email me at [editor] at [alllacqueredup] dot [com]. The more specific the request, the better. Enjoy what’s left of your weekend.

Sticking with the Blue theme. Zoya Jo & colors leading more towards a slate blue. This color swatch is actually what I'd love to see something close to. http://www.datazap.net/sites/2008/Website/Run-In_Sheds_and_Barns/JandN_Structures/slate%20blue.jpg

I love the swatches! Can you recommend a sparkly version of OPI’s Monsooner or Later from the India Collection? I love that red orange creme, but was wondering if a sparkly version of it existed.

OMG. thank you so much for the Zoya & Milani comparison! :D
i had misa Forbidden Lust that is known to be similar to Yasmeen, but didn't like how it looked on my nails.
I can see Totally Cool is much cooler than Yasmeen, I think I might be able to pull this off. :)
    thanks again!

thanks for taking requests-this is a great series idea.

I’m wondering about OPI breathe life (which I’m wearing today and love) vs. the Sephora OPI in Lagoon-a beach-from the new mermaid collection. Both seem to be sheerish shimmery light blues. Not sure if you have either polish since I haven’t seen a post with either one. (also, I know since they are more light and sheer they might not be on your radar. :-) ) If you have these that would be great, but if not that’s OK too.

    Hi Michelle:

I would also like to mention that I love “Swatch Request Mondays,” and Misa Sexy Green Money is very exciting. I think that will be my next color choice.

I must tell you that this past weekend I took a lady friend to have her first spa pedicure at a local nail salon, I believe she requested, “OPI’s “Pink of Hearts” and I opted for “Essie’s Mesmerize,” on my toes. (I really love that blue you recommended a number of days ago and your swatch was lovely. The woman nail technicians who work at the nail salon there didn’t seem to mind a man having his toenails painted, LOL and made us feel very comfortable.

Sitting in a massage chair with you toes in a whirling spa of water was very relaxing and if anyone has not gone for a spa pedicure I highly recommend it. My lady friend also told me that she would love to go to the nail salon again (and again) if I came with her; since it was my first time I ever went with anyone before.

I love your swatches and think they are great! Your web blog is the best on the web and I look forward to reading it every day. Thanks again Michelle. Kudos.

Could you compare CG Turned Up Turquoise with SH Honeydew? Thank you!!

  13. Kay says:

Oh thanks so much for comparing Misa Push Upon It vs Opi Miami Beet. I was wondering whether someone would actually swatch these two side by side as I’m contemplating getting either one. In terms of shineyness, is the Opi one better? Coz on H2T, Misa Push Upon It is described as matte….?

Also, would you be able to swatch the following: Opi Parlezvous opi, Orly Petit Four, Misa Fashionista and Essie Island Hopping?

    Keep up the great work!

Your Swatch Request is a brilliant feature! Would you compare Chanel Vendetta with Zoya Yasmeen? Also, Do you have OPI Yellin for Watermelon? Any suggestions for where I can find a bottle or a dupe? Thanks!

Can you swatch Chanel organdy with Nars Schiap?

Could you compare the Essie neon pinks? Short Shorts, Punchy Pink, and Flirty Fuschia.

The 2009 neons seem to look different in every picture I’ve seen online!

    • Pari says:

Yes i too would loce to see a compasionson of neon pinks (Essie – Short Shorts, China Glaze- Pool Party, some neon Misas, etc.) as well as neon corals (china glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Neon Essies and Neon Misas). I know you’re super busy and it is a lot to ask, but it would be swell. :) Thanks for posting your blog, i really appreciate the quality that goes into your work.
