As a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, my favorite part of the football season is the opening day tailgate. Up until kickoff, our eternal optimism says, “This is our year!” The hope is still alive and we celebrate like no other. The past few years, I’ve missed opening day covering New York Fashion Week. This year, I was NOT skipping out.

And thanks to COVERGIRL’s partnership with the NFL, the last thing I needed to worry about was what to do with my nails. Zoya Fall 2013 PixieDust Nail Polish Swatches & Review

I’ll admit, when I first tried textured nail polish, it skeeved me out. The feel was unusual and all I could think about was how lint, and possibly cat fur, would get stuck to it. But like some annoying person asking, “Do you like me? How about now? HOW ABOUT NOW?” it eventually wore me down. I blame Zoya PixieDust!

COVERGIRL Outlast Glosstinis for Summer 2013 Swatches & Review

As far as seasonal nail polish collections go, COVERGIRL has flipped the script with the launch of the COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Brilliant Glosstinis. Packaging their Summer 2013 color palette in a mini bottle is not only a space saver, it reduces waste.

I mean, let’s get real, outside of a handful of beloved shades, when was the last time you finished a full bottle of nail polish? I seriously can’t remember, which is what make the Glosstinis a stroke of genius.

I’ll be honest, when I first heard the term Glosstini, I envisioned a line of sheer jellies and my heart immediately sank. Don’t get me wrong, I love a jelly for layering but, in general, they aren’t flattering on my nails. I was pleasantly surprised, and relieved, to find that the Glosstinis are simply minis of the full coverage, high-gloss polishes I fell in love with months ago.

This type of candy-colored collection always brings back memories of the first Skittles manicure I showed you, using the Zoya Candy collection, or how we debated whether multi-colored manicures were trendy or tacky. Now, that wouldn’t even be a question. Oh how times have changed since I launched this site, over six years ago.
