I don’t know about you guys, but these hints of warm weather we’ve been getting has me ready for spring to arrive, so I’m stocking up on new accessories for when that first 70 degree day hits. I took advantage of the SHOPBOP Spring Sale to snag the emerald green Marc Jacobs satchel I’ve been coveting, and the saddle bag my purse collection is sorely missing. I’ve paired some of my fave spring accessory trends with Spring 2016 nail polish colors. You can snag them for 15-25% OFF during the SHOPBOP sale using code BIGEVENT16.
Emerald Accents: Marc Jacobs Gotham Small Satchel paired with essie Off Tropic. Subtle Neutrals: Rebecca Minkoff Moto Satchel paired with Deborah Lippmann Dirty Little Secret. Cornflower Trainers: adidas by Stella McCartney Sneakers paired with OPI Show Us Your Tips!. Pastel Sunnies: Wildfox Catfarer Sunglasses paired with Orly Beautifully Bizarre. Heels You Can Walk In: Steven Vienna Sandals (I have these in black, LOVE!) paired with China Glaze Sorry I’m Latte. Saddle Bags: Botkier Trigger Saddle Bag paired with China Glaze Don’t Be Shallow.
What accessories are you adding to your collection for spring? Are you taking advantage of the SHOPBOP sale? Are these nail colors going to be in your spring rotation?
Hi everyone! I’ve been in end-of-semester hell, but I’m finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I haven’t painted my nails in weeks, (it’s a scary sitch, you guys), I have no polish on my toes (the horror!), and I’m avoiding all the Black Friday madness, but knowing that I’m rocking my classes makes it all worthwhile. So, I’ve decided to treat myself by indulging in the Shopbop Buy More, Save More Sale (CODE: GOBIG15), going on now through Cyber Monday, 11/30.
My rain/winter boot situation is in dire need of an upgrade, but I have all the ones pictured above in my cart, and can’t afford to treat myself that well. Please help me narrow things down. The Superga Wool Slip-Ons are a no-brainer, but I also want a bootie and a rain boot.
The options (clockwise from top left): MICHAEL Michael Kors Charm Stretch Booties, Madewell Chelsea Rain Booties, DAV Moto Quilted Boots, MICHAEL Michael Kors Whitaker Booties, DVF Whitney Rain Boots, Tretorn Kelly Winter Boots, Sorel Toronto Lace Wedge Booties.
I was all set to get the Sorel booties, but the fuzzy trim on the Michael Kors ones keep catching my eye. And I like that the Tretorn boots have a furry lining and the quilt pattern on the Davs, but the stretch on the Kors rain boots will be so much easier to get on when I’m running late (aka every day of my life). I could go on and on with my internal debate dialog, but I would rather hear what you have to say.
Which ones are you loving? Do you own any boots/booties from these brands, any raves/complaints? Are you planning to take advantage of the Shopbop sale?
I wish I was one of those super organized people, but it’s not in my DNA. If you looked in any one of my drawers or closets, you would be horrified. There are just piles of clutter that have been shoved away, so I can keep the house (at least what people see) clean.
I’m trying to combat my natural instinct to keep up a facade of organization, as I showed you in my recent office overhaul. Now, with a brand new laptop on its way (arrives this week!), I’m trying to get my digital life in order as well. Today, I’m sharing what I’ve been doing to inspire my disorganized sisters out there.

Happy Sunday Funday everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend and resting up for the week ahead. I’ve been hibernating, enjoying time with the boyfriend and our DVR. ps I’m LOVING Taraji P. Henson on Empire, she’s so the millennial Joan Collins.
I have a couple new nail stories to share with you and some great nail polish deals I spotted and couldn’t help but post.
In case you missed it, Sally Beauty created Monet’s Water Lilies out of nail polish bottles.
Since nail health is a big struggle for me, I took the Nature’s Bounty 30 Day Hair, Skin and Nails Challenge and shared my insights.
I also offered tips on how to improve your nails from the inside and out.
If you are excited about the Morgan Taylor Cinderella collection, MAC is launching a makeup collection for the movie as well.
Word is that Nicole by OPI will be launching a Coca Cola collection this spring. If you’re a Coke fan, like me, be on the lookout at your local mass retailer.
Sally Beauty is offering a New Year, New You Challenge where you could Win a Makeover in NYC.
The Nails Magazine Next Top Nail Artist contest is down to the final three and I’m obsessed with Lexi Martone’s I Love Libertine nails. Go vote for your favorite at NailsMag.com.
I picked up a couple of the Formula X Explosives in my Black Friday Sephora order and they’re still on sale for $6/ea. I’m obsessed with these matte, colorful glitter top coats. I have Chaotic, TNT and Boom and plan to pick up more. There are other Formula X lines on sale at Sephora.com as well, including the textured Celestials.
A reader recently gave me the heads up that Hautelook had Illamasqua as part of their #ManiMonday sale and I’m devastated that I missed out. Last week they had Nails Inc and tomorrow they’re offering Red Carpet Manicure. I refuse to miss out on another great deal so I signed up at Hautelook.com.
If, like me, you prefer to shop from the comfort of your own home than brave the crowds and elements, you’re going to want to get involved with these Cyber Monday Beauty Deals.
I used to be a hardcore Black Friday shopper, even camped outside of Best Buy a couple times (back when they opened at 6am, not Thanksgiving night), but the deals online have become just as good or better that I don’t see the point.
Instead, I’ve scoured social media, hounded my beauty PR friends and digested every sale mail to bring you my favorite deals for this online shopping extravaganza. Enjoy!
