China Glaze Texture Nail Polish Swatches & Review
When I first heard that textured nail polish was going to be the big thing for 2013, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Given that so many DIYers had been experimenting with flocking powder, beads, sugar, embossing powder and just about anything you can find in a craft store, brands could have gone down a number of different roads.
I’m happy to see that rather than jump on the exact same bandwagon (e.g. crackle), the brands are differentiating themselves somewhat, offering varying takes on texture. The China Glaze Texture collection is one such example.
Of the textured polishes I’ve shown thus far, the majority have gone down the sparkly, glistening sand route. China Glaze’s take has the look of stucco with tiny irregularly shaped particles that remind me of NERDS candy.

Chanel Summer 2013 – Azuré, Bel-Argus & Lilis Le Vernis Swatches & Review
Inspired by butterflies (Papillon in French), Chanel Makeup Artist Peter Philips created a summer makeup collection of gold, pink, aqua, blue and coral that has a touch of whimsy and fantasy. As part of L’Eté Papillon de Chanel, he has included three new shades of Le Vernis to tempt our wallets.
Maybe, like me, you’re thinking, one of these things is not like the other. Pairing a creamy summer staple, coral, with two bold metallics in non-traditional hues seems unconventional for Chanel. Their nail color collections tend to be similar in finish and tonal range. Let’s see how they work together.

Clinique “A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins” Review & Swatches
The first non-drugstore beauty brand I ever spent my hard earned money on was Clinique and I’m sure I’m not alone in this. During my teen years, my Caboodle was chock full of jade marble shadow & blush cases (New Clover was my jam!) and my bathroom drawer had dozens of mini Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotions from GWP sets. And when Black Honey Almost Lipstick launched, you wouldn’t catch me dead without a tube. But when it came to nails, Clinique had nothing for me.
Yes, they’ve had polish in the past but it always felt like an afterthought, until now. Introducing Clinique A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins. Quite a mouthful, no? Six years in the making, this line is formulated to minimize skin sensitivity. And as we’ve come to expect from Clinique, it is Dermatologist tested and Ophthalmologist tested. In addition to a core lineup of twelve basic shades, they have launched nine LE polishes for Summer 2013. Let’s take a look!

Essie Resort 2013 “In The Cab-ana” Nail Polish Swatches & Review
Ever since Essie rocked my green & blue loving world in 2009 with the North Fork collection, the Resort colors are the ones I most look forward to seeing each year. And again, the First Lady of Nail Color did not disappoint. There’s something for everyone in Essie’s Resort 2013 well balanced range of creamy hues.
Resort is not only about jaunts to warmer climates. It’s also about striking bold color that’s fresh and flirtatious – and like you, we believe that boundaries and rules were meant to be broken. “I wanted to re-imagine sensual color in a way that is as unexpected as the modern woman herself.” says Essie Weingarten, Founder and Global Creative Director of Essie.
