My office, aka The Polish Room, looks out over the backyard and given that we live on a close-knit street filled with active little kids, it’s common to see them running by, playing games after school. Especially now that spring has finally sprung.

Seeing them streak across the yards reminds me of building forts and endless games of Tag with my neighborhood friends. With names like Fashion Playground, Hide & Go Chic and Truth of Flare, the Essie Spring 2014 collection takes me right back to childhood, making me nostalgic for summer days of playing from dawn to dusk.

Team USA Nail Art for the Sochi Olympics

I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve been an Olympics-watching junkie this past week. I’ve been taping the live day coverage and watching the night coverage as well. I can’t get enough. And tonight is the start of my favorite event of the Winter Games, Ladies Figure Skating.

You may remember my interview with Olympian and COVERGIRL Gracie Gold where I showed you the nail art from her COVERGIRL photo shoot and the design she wore on the day of our chat. Well, to show my Team USA spirit, I’ve created a mash-up of both manicures to create one almighty Patriotic Nail Art explosion.

In what seems like another world, a long, long time ago, I was somewhat of an accomplished musician (aka band geek). I have stacks of music that I leave in a visible place, as a promise to practice in hopes of joining a community orchestra, someday. I really miss playing.
