Zoya Ignite for Fall 2014

True to form, Zoya is giving us two new collections for fall, one set of cremes, one set of shimmers. Once October hits, I am ready for my nails to sparkle and, ever since the Fall 2007 Downtown collection, I’ve always looked to Zoya to get my fix. And the Zoya Fall 2014 Ignite collection does not disappoint.

Formula & Application

Zoya nail polish is 5-Free (Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde Resin & Camphor). Their signature Italian glass bottles have a tapered, shiny black plastic cap that rests comfortably between the thumb and index finger while polishing. The brush is short, round and medium in girth with flexible bristles that allow for ease of control.

All the polishes in this collection have a squishy, easy-to-control consistency packed with metallic flecks. They’re a bit jelly-ish but well pigmented. With the exception of Autumn and Teigen, each one is opaque with two thin coats. Those specific shades needed three coats, in my opinion, to achieve the proper depth of color.

Zoya Fall 2014 – Ignite

Zoya Autumn is a burnished copper shimmer with golden flecks. It’s not quite as pink-ish as Zoya Tiffany and not as dark or orange as Zoya Channing.

Zoya Autumn

Zoya India is a rich maroon with gold metallic flecks. It has a lot of depth even though the gold makes it look lighter in the bottle. I don’t have any flecked polishes that dupe it though Chanel Tulipe Noire and Essie Wrapped In Rubies have similar base colors.

Zoya Remy looks very teal in the bottle, thanks to the gold particles but, on the nail, it’s pulls much more blue. And, oh my, is it stunning! Think of it as a darker, bluer version of Zoya Charla/OPI CMIYN/Orly Halley’s Comet. I also love this one because my pal Stephanie from Short ‘n Chic has a kitty named Remy and he’s so adorable!

Zoya Sansa is a deep plum with gold metallic flakes that pulls a bit red on the nail. It’s pretty much a dead-on dupe for JINsoon Farrago, which you know I love (I’m wearing it on my toes).

Zoya Teigen is a berry-based, darkened magenta with gold flecks that really warm it up. This one has a pretty close dupe in the discontinued SOPI What’s Your Point-settia? So, if you have that, you don’t need Teigen.

Zoya Yuna (like figure skater Yuna Kim/Kim Yuna) is a graphite creme with gold and copper flecks that can look green, depending on the light. I have nothing quite like it. Essie Cashmere Bathrobe has a similar finish except the base color isn’t as blue and the flecks are silver.

Zoya Fall 2014 – Ignite

Bottom Line: I’m a sucker for a flecked polish, in general, even more so in fall so I’m all about Ignite. You really can’t go wrong pick up any of these shades but Yuna and Remy are definitely my faves. And given my shout-it-from-the-rooftops adoration of JINsoon Farrago, Sansa gets an enthusiastic two thumbs up. You just don’t need both.

Zoya Ignite for Fall 2014 is available now at salons nationwide, including ULTA stores and online at Zoya.com. Zoya nail polish retails for $9/ea.

Which Ignite shades are catching your eye? Are you more of a sparkle or creme person for fall? What color families are you gravitating towards this season?

This collection is lovely! Really want all the colors.

  2. I continue my fascination with reds and deep blues. I think that India and Claire as well as Remy may have to come home with me, but I have seen a mix using Autumn that has me intrigued as well. I think that I will most likely use these colors to add interest to the new cream colors. I think that Zoya has winners in this color line up!

  3. Ky says:

    Yep, need all of them!

I got Yuna and love it! I was looking for a grey, interesting polish and when I saw the name (like the main character in Final Fantasy X) I knew I HAD to have it.

These are gorgeous, damn you Zoya, you are not nice to my wallet! Im going to resist though, at least until I finish organizing my ‘nail room’ fearing I might have similar ones or close enough to pretend (except for Remy and Yuma which are my favs of these also). Thank you!

  17. This is nice! I like how the glitters merged with these nail colors! It makes me think that I should try out the sparkly set up on my nails again. I would definitely find these items on stores nationwide.

  18. blonde hiker says:

The swatches were so beautiful that I wanted them all but I only bought Remy and Autumn. My Remy and on more days
Dark and teal like in color. Maybe , my coats were too thick? Still beautiful, couldn’t stop staring at them while my boss was talking . Hee hee

  19. Elizabeth says:

Darn it, before I saw this I wasn’t crazy about this collection, but you just made me love all of them but now they’re getting harder to find at Ulta..wish I had seen this earlier. Fantastic swatches, as always!
