Golden Globe Nail Watch – Kate Hudson

To contrast the bright white hue of her dress, Celebrity Manicurist Deboarah Lippmann chose a cherry red creme for her nails.  See which shade she used on Kate and check out my swatch of the nail polish after the jump!

The polish is described as a creme and although there isn’t any shimmer, the formula has a glaze type feel.  It’s like a cross between a creme and a jelly in that it’s so well pigmented yet it allows for thin, smooth coats of color.  I’d liken it to a mix of OPI Malaga Wine and one of my all time fave reds China Glaze Masai Red.

What did you think of Kate’s look?  Which nail polish would you choose to wear with that dress?

Her hair and makeup look fantastic…too bad she wore a pinned up bedsheet. A real waste on such a pretty woman. It’s hard to argue with a classic red nail. It certainly wanted a pop of color. But red seems so safe here, it would have been awesome to see something a little more edgy. Purple perhaps?

I absolutely loved her dress. Although maybe a pinned up bedsheet isn’t far off?

And I thought the classic red was perfect.

Just differences in taste, I suppose :]

  2. I think her make up and nails look great. The red nail polish against the white dress is a nice contrast, however I’m not really a fan of the dress itself.

Her nails are a nice contrast to the dress. I haven’t seen a good close up of her make up but from what I see I looks very nice. I like the bottom half of the dress. Top part looks odd to me, but I absolutely LOVE the shoes.
