OPI Suede Collection Preview
 It looks like OPI is following up the Matte collection with set of satin metallic finish polishes along the lines of the Zoya Matte Velvets. Dubbed Suede by OPI it’s another reworking of existing shades only this time they’re mattified with shimmer. So those of us that were let down by Russian Navy Matte not having any sparkle, this may be just what we were looking for. Get the full deets after the jump! |

OPI Introduces Nail Lacquer Shades with a Suede Finish OPI brings the look of lush suede to the ultimate accessory – nails – with new Suede by OPI Nail Lacquers in six best-selling OPI shades.

According to Suzi, you can wear any of the Suede by OPI shades on its own, or create your own look by mixing it with the traditional gloss formula of the same OPI color. “Wearing both textures together is like wearing a fabulous suede jacket with a sexy silk blouse,†says Suzi. To maintain the Suede by OPI finish, do not use any base coat, top coat, drying drops, or hand lotion when wearing these lacquers.
Suede by OPI is available in six iconic OPI shades:

Suede by OPI will be available beginning September 2009 in salons including national chains like Trade Secret, Ulta, Regis, Beauty Brands, and JCPenney. Polishes retail for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN).

Greetings from Vegas
 I made it to Vegas for the CosmoProf show safe and sound. I’m all checked in to my room at the Mandalay Bay and it’s lovely.
I was told I had a pool view but that doesn’t even begin to describe the “beach” at Mandalay Bay. Isn’t is gorg?? There’s even more than I couldn’t fit in the shot, like a lazy river. Too bad it’s like 180 degrees outside and my skin will probably fry like bacon. But if I get time, I just may have to indulge. |
So for the next few days I’ll be at the show checking out what all the salon brands have brought to exhibit and unlike the saying; what happens in Vegas… shows up on ALU. I’ll be live blogging, tweeting and twitpic’ing from the event so be sure to check back for updates throughout the weekend and Monday!

The ALU Archives – OPI Cozu-Melted In The Sun
 The ALU Archives focuses on older, beloved shades from the All Lacquered Up stash.
So I’m leaving for Vegas on Saturday. If you’re my Facebook friend or follow me on Twitter you know already that I’m going for the CosmoProf show. It’s this huge convention where tons of salon brands come together to introduce their lines and new products. Needless to say I’m uber-excited. Preparing for the trip got me daydreaming of our next vacation. The Boyfriend and I decided that we’re over cruises so we talked about heading to Mexico with some friends come Winter. I know that’s a long way off but it got me thinking our last trip to Mexico and how I wore one of the OPI Mexico collection polishes, Cozu-Melted In The Sun, so I pulled it out for this week’s Archives. Take a look! |
Cozu-Melted In The Sun is one of the few polishes in my stash that The ALU Mom and I both agree on. A lover of all things metallic (bronze, silver, gold, copper, etc), she borrowed it from me and undoubtedly wanted to keep it but I’m not giving this beauty up! Cozu-Melted is a light pinky, peachy, coppery glitz bomb.
The base color is filled with silver micro-glitter that catches the light even indoors. The formula is pre-3Free so it spreads like a dream but is on the semi-sheer side. Even after three coats over a ridgefiller I can still see my tips but I love the shade enough that I can live with it.
OPI Cozu-Melted In The Sun is discontinued but TransDesign.com has it listed for sale and I saw some bottles on Amazon.com and Ebay.com as well. As always check out any seller before buying and consider emailing first to confirm availability. Some smaller sites are slow at updating inventory.
