“What’s On Your Nails?” with Nancy from Beauty 411

What’s On Your Nails? is a series focusing on my fellow beauty bloggers and industry insiders, their favorite nail polish and other hot nail topics.I’m very pleased to bring you this week’s What’s On Your Nails with one of my very fave blogging peeps, Nancy from Beauty411. I was an avid reader of Nancy’s blog long before I met her last year and we’ve been Twitter buddies ever since. I consider her my go-to resource when it comes to skincare because her no nonsense reviews and detailed ingredient analysis are always spot on. But besides all that, she’s a fellow nail polish fanatic with a weakness for Chanel.

Read on to learn more about Nancy, which Chanel is tops on her list and what treatment product she considers a must after discovering it right here on ALU.

Introduce yourself to the ALU readers. Tell us a little about you and your blog.
I’m Nancy from Beauty411 and I think I was born a beauty addict! My blog, Beauty411, allows me to share my beauty finds with friends, family and my readers. The best part about blogging has been the friendships I’ve made with other beauty bloggers, including you, Michelle. :) Another highlight was meeting Bobbi Brown. In “real life”, I’m a sales representative with a passion for high-tech skincare.

Why is Chanel Vendetta your favorite?
I have a weakness for Chanel nail polish and from the first time I saw Vendetta, I just had to have it. It looks amazing on, wears like a dream and I always get compliments on it. And I can’t wait to get my bottle of Cosmic Violine, on your recommendation!

What is on your tips and toes right now?
Currently on my tips – Lippman “It’s Raining Men” from the summer collection (pictured). On toes, it’s Zoya “Renee” from the La-Di-Da collection.

Do you consider nail polish a beauty necessity or accessory? Why?
I think of nail polish as an accessory, although well groomed nails are a beauty necessity. Your nail polish can really finish off a look–or the lack of it, can really draw attention to the fact that something is missing.

How many bottles of nail polish do you own?
Way too many! I’m a little OCD with nail polish, in that I use a few times and then move on.

How often do you change your nail polish?
I change it up weekly; usually Sunday nights, in time for the week ahead.

Do you have a favorite nail treatment you think my readers should know about? Why is it so fab?
A couple of favorites. The Seche Vite Topcoat, which I learned from reading your blog and talking to you at the Total Beauty Summit! It’s now something I use regularly. I also like the Lippmann Start Me Up treatment set/products.

What do you think will be the big nail trend for summer?
Red lipstick is a big trend for summer makeup, so I think the glitter polishes we’re seeing will play off of that for summer nails; or you could keep it understated and go with a natural color if you don’t want to be matchy-matchy. Neon colors are also back in a big way for summer.

What nail trend do you wish would go away?
I’m not a fan of the French pedicure. I just can’t get into that look, even though I love French manicures. Go figure.

What is the biggest nail faux pas that women make?
Well, I know the biggest nail faux pas that I make is simply not allowing the nail polish to dry adequately. I’m always in such a rush to hurry up and move onto the next task on my list. I’m trying to get better at really allowing the nails to dry for 20-30 minutes before engaging in an activity that could ruin my manicure. Like Twittering! Not good for wet nails!

Thanks a ton for joining in on the WOYN? fun Nancy! Fanatics, be sure to check out Beauty411.net.
