Lancome Le Magnetique

Hold on to your hats everyone, this has got to be one of the most unique concepts I've seen in nail lacquer. New from Lancome as part of their fall limited edition collection comes Le Magnetique. It's not just a rich reddish brown shimmery lacquer. The bottle comes with a magnetic sleeve that, when held up to the polish, creates a gold starburst pattern on your nail. I'm heading to Nordstrom ASAP to check this ingenious new polish out for myself.

A huge thank you to TobyWoo for allowing me to share her fabulous pictures with you all.

With a retail price of $17, is this something you'd want to try or is it too gimmicky?

So does the sunburst appear on your nail whenever you are in the light or only when you are holding up the special bottle as a filter for the light?

I'm not 100% on this but the way I understand it, you hold the magnet up to the wet polish and it creates the starburst design. I would assume it's due to metallic particles in the lacquer. The polish dries with the design in it and stays that way until you remove it.

I saw your article this weekend - it was great and I went right to your blog - I'm loving the shades of green you were featuring, if only I could find them to buy!

I love the sunburst - I may have to check it out.

I hope they have it at Belks!

That is really unique! I think a bit too gimmicky for $17 though. I am intrigued though...I love funky polish and nail art.

It's a cool idea, and I would definitely try the polish if one of my friends got it. But I don't think I'll buy it myself :)

Gimmicky, I agree, but cool enough so that I would consider buying it.

Did you try it? Fill us in!
Sounds like a great idea, maybe it will catch on and less expensive brands will have a version of it.

I got it, probably he first and last time ill spend this much on polish, but it definitely lives up to its promise...the starburst design is obvious in most light=)

For me it worked one time only. Next day i tried it again and no star appeared, just one curved line. Possibly because of some other magnets i have at home near this starmaker, it interferes somehow, but Lancome does not tell you to keep it away from other magnets, so be careful with this tiny bootle...

Would be good if I could find it in England looked for ages anyone knows where to get it let me know please

In England you can get it at Boots Lancome counter. One of the girls in work got some this morning and we have all tried it out and got some bottles ourselves (it is selling quickly so get a bottle now). It is a bit expensive at £14 for such a tiny bottle.
