Zoya Spring 2014 “Awaken” and Monet – Coming Soon

Zoya Spring 2014 nail polish collection - Awaken and Monet

Zoya Awaken and Monet

When I was at the Art Institute of Chicago last summer, two things made me well up with emotion. Seeing Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, and not just because of its appearance in Ferris Bueller, and Claude Monet’s Water Lillies. I even snagged a selfie with it once my tears subsided.

So, while there isn’t a specific reference to Water Lillies in Zoya’s upcoming Spring 2014 Awaken collection, featuring glitter topper Monet, it’s hard not to see the series’ influence. Keep reading to get an up close preview of the seven new lacquers coming our way.

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection Preview

Carrie Underwood nail polish collection for Nicole by OPI

Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood Collection

Even though I’m not into country music, I am a Carrie Underwood fan. I’ve followed her since her Idol days, I listen to her crossover hits and give her two thumbs up for marrying a NHL player (I live with a hockey goalie).

So, even though I’m not necessarily the target demo for Nicole by OPI, they skew towards a younger crowd, I’m curious to check out the Carrie Underwood Collection. Fourteen brand new shades, inspired by the country crooner, are headed our way this January, including a signature gold called Carrie’d Away.

Chanel Spring 2014 Nail Polish Charivari & Tapage – Coming Soon

Chanel Spring 2014 nail polish, Charivari and Tapage from Notes de Printemps

Chanel Spring 2014 – Charivari and Tapage

After seeing pale nails dominate the Spring 2014 runways, I feared we were doomed to a relatively color-less season. Thankfully, Chanel isn’t playing that neutral game. Their spring nail polish offerings, Chanel Charivari (soft purple/mauve) and Tapage (bright pink) are bold and vivid.

Lightness and brightness set a fresh, upbeat tone for spring. Inspired by this sunny duality, the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio presents a harmony of pastels, electric pinks and vivid purples in COLLECTION NOTES DE PRINTEMPS.

The contrast of lively reds pairs unexpectedly with pinks and purples to create an infinite array of playful yet polished looks.

The Chanel Spring 2014 Collection Notes de Printemps nail colors officially launch in January 2014, though they are already available on Chanel.com and coming soon to Nordstrom.com and Macys.com. Chanel nail polish retails for $27/ea.

I will have a full review and swatches soon but, in the meantime, are you excited by these new colors? Which one are you gravitating toward?

Zoya Naturel Spring 2014 Nail Polish

Zoya Naturel

If the Spring 2014 runways taught us anything, it’s that the neutral nail is coming back in a big way. Hold on to your seats, color lovers, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. Kicking off the trend is the Zoya Naturel nail polish collection, launching January 1st, 2014.

The natural nail only better… The Zoya Nail Polish Naturel collection masters delicate tone on tone color with six new, full-coverage (opaque) neutral nudes with a pink undertone, that can be worn beautifully alone or stunningly together to create modern tonal accents.

The Look: It’s not about matching – it’s about coordinating colors with slight tonal differences to create interest.

Sneak Peek: Dior Holiday 2013 – Frimas and Minuit Diorific Vernis

A sucker for fab packaging, I regretted missing out on the gorgeous Diorific nail polishes in last year’s Dior Holiday collection. This year, I got an early look at two of the shades from the Dior Holiday 2013 lineup, Frimas and Minuit.

As crazy as it is to even be talking about holiday colors, they’ll be on shelves before you know it. These should be out before the end of September and I’ll have a full review closer to the launch date but I couldn’t resist sharing.

Do you get sucked in by fab packaging? Which of these colors are calling your name?
