Do you have a favorite polish? Is it your favorite because it looks fabulous with your skin tone, because it makes you happy to see it on or because it’s highly coveted/hard-to-find and all yours?? Share with us what your favorite polish is and why?

Mine, for those that don’t know me, is OPI Rainforest for all the above reasons and more. I am a green-lovin’ gal through and through. I’m a May baby so I love emeralds, wearing green and being surrounded by it. So much so, that I just painted my living room a deep forest green. I’ll be sure to post pics once the room is finished.

Rainforest is so old that I don’t even know what collection it’s from or when it was made. I was lucky enough to find a local nail tech with a partial bottle just sitting on her shelf being neglected and unloved. She was kind enough to let me take it and give it the home it deserves. I swear to someday find a full unused bottle to keep the little guy company but until then I will covet it’s half-full beauty.

So now, after a whole lot of rambling, I present OPI Rainforest…

This is such a great color. I was really disappointed that the new OPI doesn’t even mention what collection it was part of or show a picture. It looks great on you perfectly compliments your ring!

  2. Dinah says:

That nail polish looks really nice and looks even better with that fab ring.

I meant the new OPI BOOK doesn’t mention the collection that Rainforest is a part of. Sorry about that.

Dinah: Thank you. I keep looking for a polish the exact green of my ring but I doubt I ever will. I think an opaque color would never have the same vibrance.

Mel: I knew what you meant. I don’t know how OPI can celebrate 25 years without showing all 25 years worth of collections.

that looks so pretty on you! my favorite color is lippmanns sarah smile or a whiter shade of pearl. the next runner up would have to be opi’s espresso your fashion… it is a really flattering shimmery chocolate brown.

I’m not generally a green fan, but that looks amazing on you. And your ring is fantastic!

I think my favorite color is either FP Yes, You Can-vas or ChG It’s 5′oclock Somewhere. These are the only two polishes I’ve ever reapplied immediately after taking them off.

I would have to go with OPI 3 Plums I Win from their Vegas collection a few years back…purple is my color like green is yours, and I just keep coming back to this shade no matter how many other purples I acquire.

Speaking of green polish, I remember having a bottle of OPI that was like a hunter green – darker than the Rainforest you have on (which looks great!). I don’t remember what it was called or even if I still have it. I guess that means it’s time to go through and inventory my polishes!

Megan: Espresso Your Style is one of the prettiest browns I’ve seen. I haven’t done a full mani with it yet but I’m sure it will become a favorite once I do.

Brandi: You picked two of my favorite brands. That Tequila Toes collection from China Glaze is fantastic.

corinneyb: Please check on that polish name and get back to me. I’m guessing Jasper Jade but if not, it’s one I don’t have and must acquire. I also enjoy purples so you must check out Zoya Yasmeen if you don’t already own it. It is truly unique.

I’m not really a polish girl, but my new year’s resolution was to keep my nails polished. So far, I’m doing well. My favorite is Mademoiselle by Essie.

  10. corinneyb says:

Curses! The green polish is gone…but Jasper Jade sounds familiar. This is one that I had back in college (loved it because hunter green was one of our colors), so I owned it somewhere in the 97-00 timeframe. Thanks for the Zoya suggestion – I’ve been toying with the idea of moving beyond OPI, Essie and China Glaze. I think I may start with Zoya and Lippman since I’ve seen and heard such good things about them.

hi, was searching all over the net to find that exact green!!!!!!!!!!
it is a colour that was part of 5 other various shades of green in the opi launch in 1989! The original and best collections of green i have ever come across one other mention is a colour by brit company called gallery cosmetics baeutiful deep green shimmer called poison ivy.
both of these are discontinued now and i weep for precious few drops i have left. if you ever find a bottle of rainforst please please please email me : mlmercury@yahoo.com.au

I used to really like “Blonde Date” by OPI (though the formula was really thick that could be due to the age it was when I acquired it). Does anyone know this color? It looked like there was a similar color by RBL. I’m a little torn about whether I should plunk the cash down or if there’s another similar polish for less.

My favorite was an OPI silver sheer I got back in '98. Looks like 25th Anniversary better. I even wrote to opi to see if they had any on a dusty shelf. No luck and I finally threw away the bottle. If I could only remember the name. *sniff-sniff*

Rainforest looks a lot like Jane Emerald City, a shade I wore all the time when I was a teenager. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find this shade in stores since my high school years.

  15. Shannon says:

maybe its not listed by opi because it never was a real opi maybe it was a tester or a small release that never fully came to fruition or someone mixed up a new one with some other blue and yellow polish
