365 of Untrieds is my personal challenge to weed through the polishes in the ALU stash that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t gotten around to.
I always feel pangs of guilt when I review a really amazing nail polish that all my international fanatics don’t have access to so I love when I’m able to get my hands on polishes from outside the US. piCture pOlish is an Australian nail polish brand and they have quite a diverse color range to choose from.
Thanks to the generosity of the piCture pOlish girls I was able to select three shades from their line to try and the glitter fiend in me was instantly drawn to Heavy Metal. |

My friend Nancy from Beauty 411 is what you might call a Chanel connoisseur. She knows the makeup line inside and out and every season she is first in line to take home her favorite pieces from the collection, especially the nail colors.
When pictures first surfaced of a silver metallic Chanel nail polish from backstage at Paris Fashion Week, Nance was the first person to ask me about it on Twitter. At the time, the images I saw didn’t wow me. Another foil metallic, how original.
I told her I didn’t expect Chanel Graphite to be anything special and even after I could see it in person I was feeling kind of “meh” about it. Well, now you get to watch me eat my words. |

Last winter we got a peek at one of the Chanel Fall 2011 nail polishes when Chanel Graphite hit the runway but it’s Chanel Peridot that seems to be getting all the buzz. Is it green? Is it yellow? Are we talking Chanel duo-chrome?
Inspired by the heritage and savoir faire of the artisanal craftsmanship of the House of Chanel, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, introduces new textures and makeup effects in a radiant Fall 2011 Collection, ILLUSIONS D’OMBRES DE CHANEL.
At the heart of this captivating colour story: Shimmering bronze, gold and platinum are the perfect complements to plum, khaki and copper shades on eyes and lips. Unique reflections of metallic green, silver and beige on nails provide the ideal counterpoint.
“Illusion d’Ombre is a new and exciting product, that’s easy to apply,” says Peter Philips. “I would suggest finger application. The texture is unique and has a very pleasant touch.”

After I posted about the OPI Glam Slam! England duo with Grape…Set…Match quite a few of you requested that I also share my thoughts on Your Royal Shine-ness. To be honest, I wasn’t even planning to talk about this polish because it looked like just another silver foil in the bottle and I have more than my share of those.
Turns out I have to thank you all for prodding me into giving it a whirl because it ended up being one of those “Don’t judge a book by its cover” kind of moments. And isn’t that the whole point of this series and my blog in general? Keep reading to see what I mean. |

While at brunch on Sunday I had my first spotting of crackle polish in the wild. Sure we’ve been talking about it for months but, since OPI Black Shatter launched last January, I have yet to see it on anyone in real life outside of the beauty/fashion blogosphere.
The waitress who seated us was wearing a black crackle polish over a metallic silver and I loved the look so much, I decided to replicate it. I went searching for an untried silver foil and came up with Sonia Kashuk Smoke and Mirrors and with the OPI Blue Shatters set to launch next month, I thought OPI Navy Shatter would be the perfect complement. |
