Take this past Saturday, for instance. I had the best intentions of creating a fun look for my friend’s wedding. The reality… I was shopping all day and by the time I got home, the best I could do was throw a gold glitter over my navy mani. Done and done!

With all the unique combinations of glitter colors and sizes being thrown our way, the options for sprucing up your nail look are limitless. Today, I have my Top 10 Glitter Top Coats to take your mani from “fine” to “fab.”

Smoky Plum Eye Tutorial

It’s not secret that when it comes to eye makeup, I LIVE for a palette. And a peek inside my in-need-of-a-good-purge makeup collection will reveal that MAC palettes make up the majority of my stash. Especially the holiday ones. I probably have eight or more of them.

So when the Makeup Wars gang decided to create a holiday makeup look, I knew exactly what to reach for. The MAC Keepsakes Plum Eyes palette is so my style, with the majority of the colors leaning towards cool. It created a smoky eye that is perfect for holiday parties and I couldn’t resist coming up with a nail look to go with it. Check it!

Constellation Nails

Have you guys been watching Nail’d It on Oxygen? I loved the piano key nails and bejeweled crescent that China created for her music industry client last week. It has officially earned a place on my DVR’s season pass list and I’m looking forward to tonight’s episode because it challenges the nail artists to create astrological nail art for psychics.

I’m a pretty pragmatic person but there’s something about astrology that intrigues me. I’ve had my natal chart read and studied astrology a bit. Maybe it was all those trips to my school’s planetarium as a kid. I just love staring at the night sky and wondering how forces outside our tiny planet affect my daily life.

Inspired by this week’s Nail’d It Quick Dry Challenge, I created my own take on astrological nail art with these Constellation Nails. Check out my nail art tutorial below. Continue Reading »

Nailbox Pre-Fall Trendbox

Happy Mani Monday! I hope you all had a fun weekend. I saw Gone Girl, twice, because it was that good. The movie really did the book justice and the casting was pretty spot on. I especially loved Carrie Coon as Nick’s twin, Go. If you are a fan of the book, see it! And if you didn’t read it, what are you waiting for? Though, I took the boyfriend, who hasn’t read it, and he thoroughly enjoyed the film.

Let’s kick off the week with a patterned Dotticure using the Nailbox Pre-Fall TrendBox, curated by my pal Sarah from Chalkboard Nails. I created this look as part of my work with Nailbox but it was so fun that I just had to share it here. I wore it all weekend and got so many compliments.
