Route 66. A classic Corvette convertible. Windblown hair (the kind you see in the movies that doesn’t require an hour of de-tangling). The dusty, weathered shades of CND’s VINYLUX Open Road collection for Spring 2014 conjures images that make the snowy Cleveland weather a little less dreary.
It’s been a pretty stellar year for nail polish. In 2013, we’ve seen new technologies, new finishes and tons of new colors. So you can imagine what a task it’s been trying to narrow down my favorites.
The new textured polishes really helped invigorate my passion for polish. Unlike other fad-type finishes of the past few years (crackle, matte, magnetic, etc), I’m so not tired of texture and I don’t see my love waning anytime soon.
After an unexpectedly long break from ALU, I came back this year with a vengeance and I’ve been loving every second of it. A huge part of that is you. Your comments, emails, tweets, etc. mean so much and encourage me to share my love of nail color. So without further ado, I give you my Top 30 Nail Polish Colors of 2013.

If my search results tell me anything, it’s that there are lots of CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish fans out there. Whether you read about it online or were introduced to it by your salon, VINYLUX is gaining in popularity for regular salon goers.
During a recent pedicure appointment, I talked VINYLUX with my fave nail techs and they said it’s becoming a big seller. And I know lots of people have been emailing me to find out where to purchase bottles for home use so I wanted to point you in the right direction.
CND VINYLUX is retailed in salons so look for one in your area using the CND Locate tool. You can specify VINYLUX to find salons that carry the line.
There aren’t a ton of online sellers as VINYLUX is a professional product but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.
Amazon.com is the most convenient and reliable online seller. It’s where I purchase VINYLUX.
Another online seller, that quite a few bloggers I know buy from, is BeyondPolish.com.
Thanks to reader Julie-Anne for letting me know that Canadian VINYLUX fans can order through NailPolishCanada.com.

As nail polish fanatics we are on a never-ending quest for that holy grail combination of base coat, polish and top coat that will give us extended wear and high gloss shine with a quick dry time and no staining (Smurf fingers begone). Nail industry innovator, CND, is attempting to solve that riddle with the introduction of CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish.
A new take on the traditional nail polish process, the CND VINYLUX system consists solely of nail polish and top coat, no base coat required. It also claims to deliver a stain-free product that dries in 8 & 1/2 minutes flat, with a full week of wear thanks to a top coat that gets stronger when exposed to natural UV light, no lamps required. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?

CND revolutionized the nail salon industry when they brought Shellac into the world and they’re poised to do it again with a new product called VINYLUX.
I’ve long been a fan of the CND Colour & Effects nail polish line for its quality formula but it was overshadowed by the popularity of Shellac. When I inquired about the state of Colour & Effects last fall I was told to get ready for an amazing new technology come spring and it’s finally here.
VINYLUX is a Weekly Nail Polish that uses no base coat and a top coat that gets more durable with natural light exposure. Are you getting what I’m putting down? That’s right, this is technology that gives long lasting, high gloss wear with no UV/LED exposure and it removes like regular nail polish!
