Essie Fall 2015 - Leggy Legend

Essie Fall 2015 – Leggy Legend

The Essie Fall 2015 collection officially launches September 1st, but it was previewed last week at the InStyle #SummerSocial, and I have a look at the color palette plus some chic, easy nail art for you to try. Check it out!

Essie Fall 2015 – Leggy Legend

Essie Global Color Designer Rebecca Minkoff was inspired by the standout style of 70s rock goddesses like Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks. This collection is personal for Minkoff since she fell for her husband when he was playing with his band. Music is part of her soul and you can feel that in the names and hues of this collection. As you know, I am a Minkoff fangirl, and I’m loving everything she’s done with the brand so far.

  • Frock ‘n Roll – Shimmering rich espresso
  • In the Lobby – Exotic cinnamon plum
  • Leggy Legend – Alloyed bronze bombshell
  • With the Band – Toasted spice burgundy
  • Color Binge – Addictive orange red
  • Bell-bottom Blues – Intense midnight indigo

Essie Fall 2015 Nail Art – Rock Legend

I wanted to have a little fun with the collection and discovered this design in the Essie Looks Gallery and had to give it a go. The full instructions are on the site, but essentially you apply tiny vertical strokes of Leggy Legend and Frock ‘n Roll over With the Band using a nail striper brush.

It has an elegant, grunge feel, and I love how the metallic shimmer dances in the light. I wasn’t sure I would like Frock ‘n Roll with the other two colors, but I dig how it grounds the look. It’s so simple, you guys!

That is a nifty look! I’ll have to try and replicate it, I just don’t know what colors to do right off. I’ll have to dig through my bins :)

Hope things are starting to even out for you with classes and what not!! You’ll have to give us an update!

    • Hi Amanda! Thanks for checking in on me. I had to take a math placement exam, and OMG, I was so nervous. I haven’t taken Calculus in YEARS, thankfully, I did well enough to place in it again. Whew! Though the class is kicking my butt and we’re barely into the semester. I’m scrambling to remember all my algebra and trig through online reviews.

Good luck my friend. I HATE math and yet I’m an accounting clerk… makes no sense lol. Tests made me nervous all the time too and I’d imagine that wouldn’t have changed in the last 15-20 years lol. Glad to hear you seem to be doing just fine!!

  6. Christine says:

I snagged leggy legend on Sunday at Ulta – it immediately went on my toes. I’m in love! I can’t wait to have time to do a mani and get it on my fingers.

  7. I adore this collection! I had so much fun swatching these :) I didn’t know the fun fact about Rebecca Minkoff! Love that!! If it’s ok with you I want to add it to my post. My favorites from the group are Leggy Legend (of course) Color Binge and Bell-Bottom Blues. I love how there are so many 1-coaters!!! Thanks for sharing this Michelle.

Could you please have a side-by-side of Essie Frock n Roll and Jinsoon Farrago? Thanks in advance and I look forward to your review of the Essie fall collection.

  13. KittyK says:

Is that With the Band in the nail art as the base? looks more like Leggy Legend.

  14. Dawn says:

It’s all about the brush, if I can’t have the square style brush then I don’t buy it

  15. Ayisha Kouri says:

Nice collection! I just love it. I will definitely go for it. I always try different types of nail art design. I believe that nail art is one of the major aspects of beauty. Last month I tried a unique nail art with the help of the popular Dubai based salon known as The Nail Place. I am waiting for your next blog.
