Zoya Spring 2014 “Awaken” and Monet – Coming Soon

Zoya Spring 2014 nail polish collection - Awaken and Monet

Zoya Awaken and Monet

When I was at the Art Institute of Chicago last summer, two things made me well up with emotion. Seeing Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, and not just because of its appearance in Ferris Bueller, and Claude Monet’s Water Lillies. I even snagged a selfie with it once my tears subsided.

So, while there isn’t a specific reference to Water Lillies in Zoya’s upcoming Spring 2014 Awaken collection, featuring glitter topper Monet, it’s hard not to see the series’ influence. Keep reading to get an up close preview of the seven new lacquers coming our way.

Monet – A Special Edition Topper ($10/ea)

Create a nail color masterpiece. The multi-colored, holographic flakes of Zoya Monet lend an impressionistic color change option to existing color palettes. Never boring, this artistic topper can be applied as an accent or used as an overall color changer.

The Zoya Awaken and Monet are coming soon to Zoya.com. Zoya Awaken nail polishes retail for $9/ea and Monet retails for $10/ea for a .5oz bottle. Don’t forget, you can try before you buy with the Zoya Color Spoon program.

Are you excited for these new spring shades from Zoya? What do you think of Monet as a topper?

I’m pretty skeptical when brands throw around the term holographic. It’s such an overused buzzword that doesn’t tend to deliver. While I spot holographic glitter particles, I’m most curious to see that one in person

As a die-hard Monet fan I will probably pick some of these up! Also, I’m a total sucker for some pretty pastels!!

  2. Casey says:

I’m thinking by “holographic” they mean “iridescent”, but we shall see. Looking forward to this one, especially Hudson and Monet.

  3. Josephine says:

Beautiful pastels and that glitter topper looks lovely too!

  4. Leissa says:

I feel like iridescent or pearlescent would be a better word to describe Monet than holographic.

    • Michelle Mismas says:

I agree with you Leissa. But the holographic glitter particles have been popping up so often lately that I think that’s why the term is getting used so much.

  5. Katharine says:

Do you know when they will be released? I wonder if after the promotion…..

    • Michelle Mismas says:

I would imagine sometime in January but I can’t say for sure. When I know, you’ll know.

  6. kel says:

i agree with you about the holographic topper. i hope it delivers. will u be doing your own swatches of the stuff??? i live and die by your reviews. i don’t buy polish anymore unless you’ve written about it first!

    • Michelle Mismas says:

Aw, thank you so much Kel. I will be doing swatches as soon as I can get my hands on them.

  7. sara says:

Oh, the Seurat at the Art Institute is my all-time favorite painting! I wrote a paper on it when I was in 7th grade. Monet’s water lilies are a favorite, too. Sadly, though, these are probably not good colors for me. Pastels always give me lobster hands. They’re so pretty, though. Sadness.

  8. Julie says:

First off, two of my favorite pieces at the Chicago museum are yours, the beauty in that place is overwhelming!!
Second, I’m also a diehard Monet fan and this is the first time where I truly love and really really want all colors in a given collection. And oh my that topper looks awesome!!
So no word on the release date? Do they release Spring lines at the same time each year?

  9. Vikki says:

I LOVE these! Rebel with Monet over it looks just like Waterlilies! Chomping at the bit to get to these.

  10. Valerie says:

I’ll be buying too. I love Zoya :)

  11. Amanda says:

I feel like I have a Wet & Wild polish that is similar in color to Rebel, and a China Glaze that is close to Dot, but I am still intrigued by this collection as a whole, but especially Hudson, Dillon, and Monet. I think I shall have to pick up Monet if nothing else, as I like the look of it on the webpage. Maybe a color spoon is in order to be sure!

  12. DEBBIE BELL says:

Ohhhh Also a lover of Monet…these do look promising! Can’t wait..so do tell us Ms. Michelle..do tell:) I’am like Kel…if you don’t write about it…I don’t buy it:) xox

    • Michelle Mismas says:

I’m so flattered. Thank you Debbie! I can’t wait for the colors to come in so I can share them with you.

  13. Lisa Brooks says:

Love this, I don’t see any of them as dupes. Some remind me a bit of last years lovely collection but Julie and Piaf are very muted and frosty. Takes 4 coats or over white to get opacity. These look much more pigmented and bright. Probably need all of these :-)

  14. Hi ALU! Thanks for the preview posting! We look forward to seeing your swatches and color reviews (as always) as the actual release approaches!

  15. kel says:

michelle, i’m sure u already know this, but total beauty sent an email out for the 3 free zoya polish offer on their site. thought u might want to tell your readers…code is color2014. based on your reviews i bought carter, chita, and sunshine. can’t wait to receive!

  16. Tricia says:

Oh My Word these are just drop dead gorgeous, and I don’t have any Zoya’s yet but I feel that is about to change with this collection!

  17. Vikki says:

Any updates yet as to the release date for these?

    • Michelle Mismas says:

I was recently told that due to the bad weather we’ve been having, the collection release has been delayed. Hopefully sometime in early February.
