Preview the Chanel Spring 2011 Colors

Thanks to the amazing Sophy Robson we’re getting a sneak peek at the Chanel Spring 2011 Collection polishes that were spotted on the Paris runway back in October.

We knew about Black Pearl and Pearl Drop but there’s also a color called Peche Nacree that I haven’t heard anything about. I wonder if that will be part of a secondary spring collection or summer.

If you want to see what they look like on the nail, head on over to Sophy’s Blog where she included a swatch pic. Now that we can see Black Pearl painted properly on a nail, it’s clear that there’s some green in the color which makes me squeal with delight!

Also, as you notice Sophy started watermarking her images, just like I do.  It’s a shame we have to wreck our photos with an ugly watermark but until people learn to stop using images without giving credit, it’s an unnecessary evil.  Though I guess it’s a compliment that people want to use the photos, right?

Gasp! I want them all! And I’ve never even owned a Chanel polish ;) When will these be available? Please let me know!

    • All Lacquered Up says:

They’ll be out for Spring so I would assume February but possibly late January.

      • Kat says:

Actually December is when the collection is being released! I’m assuming that the ship date my Chanel lady showed me was the actual launch date and that was December 6th (ugh, it always takes forever for my Chanel counter to get stuff and the holiday season won’t help. Lol). I saw that Neiman Marcus already has it listed on their site but it is listed as back ordered. The summer nail polishes are pretty too (a beige, another pink and a bright shimmery yellow). :)

  2. Andrea says:

I like Riva, it’s pretty blue like a Robin’s egg.

  3. Jocelyn says:

The first two seem like standouts. I’m not a fan of the last two – they look a little “old lady” to me, like something that should belong in that vintage nail polish bottle you bought at the Art Walk! :P

  4. ecstar says:

do you know if they’ll be out in canada? i may just have to travel across the border for these!

  5. Lauren says:

So, now that we’ve seen a swatch of Riva, do you think it’s a dupe of What’s with the Cattitude? I don’t see the shimmer at all that the bottle promo pic shows. Black Pearl looks awesome.

    • All Lacquered Up says:

Cattitude is deeper and more opaque. The shimmer in Riva barely shows on the nail unless you are in direct light and looking for it.

  6. KayDiKat says:

OMG! You read my mind :) I was just wondering when you were gonna post something about Chanel’s Spring line… And there it is. Thanks Sophy for the preview, but I’m definitely looking forward to seeing your swatches Michelle!

  7. Breda says:

Black Pearl looks like an exact dupe of that Icing Black Pearl that was out a while ago. Glad I bought two bottles.

  8. Nadine says:

Peche Negree is also part of the spring collection, with Black Pearl and Pearl Drop. I remember seeing promo pics. I wonder, if it’s more on the sheer side. I’ll get Black Pearl for sure, but I also really like the other two.

  9. ZB says:

Okay, I really need Black Pearl. NEED! :-)

  10. kirsten says:

I have to say I’m not feeling these as much as past colors, but I still love Riva and Black Pearl! I got Riva and it was delivered today, but I’ll definitely pick up Black Pearl when its released! I’m just a sucker for Chanel! Pearl Drop looked intriguing in the bottle pics, but on the nail, blech! I’m just really not into Peche Negree or Pearl Drop based on Sophy’s pic of them on the nail, but who knows maybe I’ll change my mind!

    • Lauren says:

Kirsten, do you have OPI What’s with the Cattitude? If so, how do they compare?

      • kirsten says:

Sorry! No, I didn’t end up getting any of the Shrek collection for some idiotic reason (I considered getting FD, but I already had RBL Mismas). My mom has it though. Next time I go by her house I’ll bring my bottle of Riva and compare them. Maybe I can also finally get my bottle of Gold Fiction back from her!

      • kirsten says:

Actually I can point out one difference between the two without having both in front of me. In the bottle Riva has an obvious shimmer to it like Jade did although on the nail its not obvious and simply adds depth while What’s with the Cattitude doesn’t have this.

      • All Lacquered Up says:

I got my bottle of Riva today. Cattitude is darker and more opaque. They are not twinsies

  11. Kisten says:

Black Pearl is amazing! Does Riva have a slight shimmer or is it a straight up creme?

  12. chocaddict says:

“Peche Negree”?! “Negree”, I mean really?!
It’s NACREE, I know Sophy’s pic is a little blurry but still negree isn’t a word, neither in English nor in French. The only actual French word it’s close to would never ever be used on a Chanel product as it’s terribly offensive.

    • All Lacquered Up says:

I’m sorry but I don’t speak French so I have no idea what is or isn’t a word. I certainly didn’t mean to offend anyone. Since the pic is blurry I went with what Sophy wrote in her blog. I’ll make the correction as to not offend anyone else.

  13. Melody says:

Wow, Pearl Drop looks great :)

  14. Catch Me In Your Net says:

Peche Negree might be my first Chanel polish!

  15. titeju says:

    I assume it’s P

  16. Danielle says:

Thanks for posting this! I wish I could get excited about this polish but every time I wear Chanel it chips off the next day. :( But the color palette for Spring looks wonderful. I cant wait to see what other companies have for us!!

  17. Elodie says:

I was pointing that out too but my comment doesn’t seem to appear… I believe it’s P

    • All Lacquered Up says:

Due to the overwhelming amount of spam comments I get, all comments must be approved so they don’t appear immediately after you post them.

  18. Jackie S. says:

Black Pearl is a MUST HAVE!

I love Riva but, my firm range is $25, so if this color is $27…count me out!

  19. Elodie says:

ALU: there’s still a little mistake. It’s nAcr

    • All Lacquered Up says:

Thank you for pointing that out. I used what Sophy posted and am unfamiliar with the French language.

  20. louisa says:

Does anybody else feel like Chanel is just recycling colors? Riva looks like Azur, Pearl Drop looks like Intermezzo, and Peche Nacree looks like Orange Fizz. Black Pearl does look like a new & interesting color, so I’ll give them credit for that. :-)

I always find it interesting that people say Chanel chips so easily on their nails. I think it really depends on your body chemistry. I can wear Chanel for a week with no chips; it’s easily my favorite brand of polish. For me, OPI is the worst. My polish will chip & peel on six of ten nails within 24 hours.

    • Danielle says:

I was thinking the same thing about the chipping. I think its my chemistry. Chanel polish goes on so nice but never wants to stay put! Maybe I should try a different base coat. I also have problems with Butter London. Everyone raves about its wear. Two days tops for me :( Maybe I need to seal my nails with varnish – lol

  21. Vio says:

I’m already fascinated by Black Pearl, especially after you mentioned the hint of green.

I would like to use your picture on my German blog. Is it okay if I safe the picture, load it onto my own blog and the link back to your blog and this specific post as the source of the picture? Or would you like a different form of credit?

    • All Lacquered Up says:

It’s actually Sophy Robson’s picture so if you use it, link back to her blog, like I did. Thanks for asking!

  22. Alicia says:

Thanks for this post! Agreed Black Pearl is a must!!!! I’ve also been searching for a swatch of Chanel le Vernis Nail Colour Holiday 2010 in Pulsion. If anyone knows let me know! I’m hoping to match a China Glaze color from years past!

  23. Chiara says:

OMG!!!! I cannot breath!! Want them all!!

  24. Julia says:

Black pearl reminds me Vert sacril
