OPI Katy Perry Collection Preview

OPI also revealed info on their Katy Perry collaboration today. Can I just say that I’m so happy to see OPI finally embracing social media and not pretending a collection doesn’t exist until the day it launches in stores? In this collection, the colors range from a confectionery pink to a bold blue that seemed to be pulled straight from Katy’s California Gurls video.

From left to right: Last Friday Night, Not Like the Movies, The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream and Black Shatter.

opi-katy-perry-collection-black-shatter

It’s obvious that the glitter party is nowhere near over in nail world.  After all the Deborah Lippmann and China Glaze Holiday glitters plus the OPI Alice & Burlesque sparklers the train to Glitter Town won’t be reaching the end of the line anytime soon.

What are your thoughts on these?  Are they what you would expect from a collection involving Katy Perry?  Do you think that OPI including “Shatter” polishes in two collections means that we’re going to get inundated with crackle from the other major polish brands?  Will you give into the cracked polish effect?

UPDATE: Thanks to the readers who pointed out that OPI posted a video on YouTube showing the colors and shatter effect

I would love to see swatches of that glittery blue. I looks like a blue base with holo glitter, if it’s so then I’m a happy woman.

  2. Sarah says:

Last Friday Night and Not Like the Movies look intriguing

    • Stefanie says:

Oh yeah, a blue version of “My private jet” would be great. I hope for a holo comeback in every color :)

  3. Andrea says:

Honestly nothing from the other world, nothing i havent see before with other brands. I am not impressed.

  4. katt says:

i am so looking forward to this collection. i’ve never really wanted an opi polish but i think i’m going to buy all of these!

  5. lilynail says:

i love them !! need the top coat !

  6. GwenSA says:

I think I prefer the crackled look to the shattered look. I have short nails so the crackle would most likely look better than the splotchy looking shatter shown with the other new collection. The design on the bottle’s handle could be misleading to buyers. I remember buying the crackle polish that was available a while ago; thinking it was from Maybelline.

  7. Zara says:

The glitters look great! I can’t wait to see swatches.

  8. Tiger says:

Oooh I LOVE Katy’s songs and these polishes seem to be living up to them! Simply adoring the look of Last Friday Night and Teenage dream, and the colors seem to match the feel of the songs too :) <3

  9. Lisa says:

    They look pretty good:)

  10. Emelie says:

    The blue looks awesome!

  11. Can;t wait for the shatter one!!!

  12. Andrea says:

I’m excited for the crackle/shatter polish. I’m going to pick it up for sure. I’ve never worn a crackle before and it looks like it will be fun.

  13. Deb says:

I am not a fan of Katy Perry’s music (or pop music in general), but these look really cool. I can’t wait to see swatches.

  14. Anette says:

    When are these coming out?
OPI just put up a video on facebook and these polishes look really cool on.

  15. Annalisa says:

    I can’t wait for these!!
Thanks for the exclusive info! ;)

  16. Amanda says:

fyi to all – there is a video on OPI’s facebook page that shows the colors on the nail. enjoy!

  17. They look okay…not super awesome, but good. And at least they aren’t boring.
Last Friday Night, Black Shatter, and Teenage Dream look the most promising.

And if other brands follow suit and bring back the cracklies, then hellz yes, I’m hopping on the wagon.
Well…I’m broke, so I may actually end up walking behind the wagon at a leisurely pace. Whatever.

  18. Cristina says:

I just saw a vid on FB from the OPI page showing these colors and they are sooo pretty! I’m super excited about the shatter polish.

  19. Maureen says:

I love Katy Perry and I looove her nails. I do like this collection from OPI (since all the colors aren’t a shade of red) but I expected something more exciting from a collaboration with Katy Perry. Maybe they will look more flashy and Katy Perry-ish on the nail.

  20. Last Friday Night and Teenage Dream OMG!

  21. Bpdd says:

I cannot wait for crackle! It’s been too long since it’s been around. I’m gonna buy so many bottles of that stuff.

  22. jenny says:

I’ll definitely be snatching up the crackle polish, but I don’t see any others I can’t live without. I mean, I might buy LFN because I love the song, but that’s Katy Perry love, not nail polish love motivating that purchase.

  23. julia says:

i am seriously going to buy each & every one of these polishes. sooo excited!

  24. amanda says:

these could be interesting. do you know when they will be released?

  25. isnotfashion says:

i am not a fan of any of the katy colors but i’m excited to try crackle. i wish it was out for halloween!

  26. Ping says:

Hmm, I’m honestly just a tad bit disappointed from looking at the promo image because I was expecting some insane colors when I heard about the collaboration. I mean, Katy Perry! She has crazy, insane nails all the time! Haha. But I’m interested in seeing swatches. Sometimes, promo images are disappointing, but swatches turn out to be interesting.

  27. Alllison says:

i’m not sure of the cracked one but I vote a big YES for the others.

  28. MalybooBarbee says:

I’m so looking forward to this crackle polish. I remember having one from Revlon (i think?) like 10 years ago when I was only like 9-10 years old that I LOVED. Hopefully I still will when these release so I can relive my first nail polish experiences lol

  29. Lemon says:

OPI had a video up on facebook showing swatches and how the crackle/shatter works. It’s interesting to say the least…guess it all depends on pressure and how much you put on.

I do love the gunmetal though.

  30. Kristina, lover of polish says:

I’m looking forward to the swatches…it’s so hard to tell from promo pix. At first glance, Last Friday Night and Not Like Movies look nice. I’m not sure if I will be able to get into the whole crackle look. It probably is an upcoming trend though. The polish companies have to keep us coming back for more! ;-)

  31. Courtney says:

Awesome!!!! Last Friday Night and Teenage Dream look really fun!

  32. Henna says:

I want to try the shatter effect! It’s probably something I want to wear more on the weekends, but I’m all about mixing it up when possible.

  33. Victoria says:

There’s a youtube video here with some swatches! :D

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1piNxgXJzI

  34. Apriltini says:

That blue is quite sheer in the video I saw on FB. The gray seemed to have a purple tint to it, but that could have been the lighting. I’ll wait to see actual swatches before I decide if I want any of these. The crackle/shatter looks interesting, but might be more of a short lived trend, and get boring quickly.

  35. Debbie says:

Loving that crackle! Got the Barry M version at the weekend and put it on top of metallic green last night – now have nails that look like snake skin, love it!

  36. Cincly says:

My sister is going to love Teenage Dream! One birthday present sorted :)

  37. Pamsan says:

Last Friday Night, Not Like The Movies and Teenage Dream look interesting but the names? I think they’re kind of dull. Well, as long as the colors is ok… :)

  38. Rosemary McClure says:

saw a video of the crackle polish over some of the glitters from this collection. looked awesome. must buy.

  39. Danny says:

I personaly dont like this crackle effect. i’ve got black crackle polish too but after trying, never touched it again!

but I think I will have the other four polishes! love the shades! i’m so excited how they look like in real! :)

    love your blog!

  40. Susana says:

Maybe they should have released it sooner… Lots of people just bought the (recently released and cheaper) Barry M crackle polish. I’m not a big fan of nail art, but I got it just out of curiosity.

Back to topic: the blue and pink glitters look great!

  41. Michelle says:

I like them! I really love glitters so I’m looking forward to swatches.
And I like the crackle effect, but I don’t see why they brought it out with multiple collections. But it’s still nice ^^

  42. Tina G says:

I think OPI is embracing the social media because they realized that in this economy they can’t really afford not to and I am SO glad they have. I’ve been lovin’ their polish for as long as I’ve been doing nails professionally, 15 years.

I could really go on and gush for hours about the great things going on in our industry right now, but i just wanted to add here that the Katy Perry line, (especially with the crackle polish)is right on time. The ‘Tweens are gonna go bananas! And the big girls, like me,(25-50yrs), will too! Anything that generates business for our shop and keeps our staff working makes me happy. REALLY happy!

So Yay OPI! And Yay to you too ALU! Your blog really helps get the word out about the new trends…luv it! xoxo

  43. Elizabelle says:

What do you imagine the wear will be like on the Shatter? Do you use a top coat after it dries, or…?

  44. I think “Teenage Dream” will be really cute! “Last Friday Night” looks really sheer so I’ll be interested to see how this will build up. The rest of the colors don’t look like anything I haven’t seen before but it’s hard to tell. I wish Katy Perry did an interview explaining why she chose the colors to represent those songs.

Did you see the OPI swatch video for the Katy Perry & Serena Williams Collection?
If not you can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1piNxgXJzI
    :)

  45. Liz Randell says:

They aren’t as individual or punchy as I would expect them to be considering Katy Perry’s style but they are lovely colours all the same. I’d buy The One That Got Away and Black Shatter if it swatches well :D

  46. Laura says:

So, Black Shatter is in both the Serena Williams collection AND this one? That’s kind of lame, no?

  47. Edwina says:

Look forward to Teenage Dream. I think I’ll buy the whole collection. ^^

  48. Stacey says:

Black Shatter will be my color for sure.

  49. Vettelicious says:

VERY excited about the glitters! They look gorgeous :) The crackle polish doesn’t excite me as much – I have a few of that type of top coat already. I could imagine myself buy all of them, though – I have a feeling I need a new fix when they launch!

  50. Lisa says:

I love the Not Like the Movies and Teenage Dream! The Not Like the Movies is not something I would normally wear but I have been into the “greys” lately so I cant’ wait to see this in person and give it a try.

  51. Nadine says:

It’s too bad that the focus and lighting in the official OPI video (on Facebook) is too poor to see the swatches properly. I’m loving the multi-colored holo-like glitter in Teenage Dream and I suppose it’s time I climbed aboard the crackle train. I chuckled at how the OPI employee accidentally referred to it as crackle instead of shatter. I crossed Last Friday Night off my wishlist after seeing how sheer it appeared in the video. Not Like the Movies isn’t my style simply because I’m not fond of dark colors but it does look different and mesmerizing. The One That Got Away is b-o-r-i-n-g. OPI reds/pinks/magentas can be interesting (see Burlesque collection) and a simple frost just doesn’t suffice.

  52. Styrch says:

You know what I find most interesting about this is that the crackle/shatter adds a unifier to the idea of the “skittle nails”. I could see someone wearing a different color on their nails, applying the crackle over it just like this video, and totally getting away with it. Hmmm…

    • JenniferC says:

Ah, now that is an interesting idea! I’m going to have to try that when this shatter comes out!

    • Jenn says:

omg, that would be so cool, with all different neons over it… hmmmm is correct.

    • Frankie says:

That is exactly what I thought watching this video and what I will be doing. I feel a little childish doing different colored nails with no rhyme or reason, but this really ties it in!

  53. lacquerholic says:

So far, these aren’t grabbing me. I think I can skip these, but will have to see the swatches to be sure.

  54. Mc Huggs says:

Hi Michelle: First was the Matte look, or was it the glitter now it’s the “shattered” look, I’ll buy into it. It’s like placing a new coating over any polish and changing it’s surface.

Loved the OPI video, (how come it’s considered spam?) Christine, the host of the OPI face book page does a great job on presenting the new colors as well as, the “Shattered,” look. I can just see not just OPI (but possibly every nail polish manufacturer have their own “shattered” or “crackled” or blasted apart,” LOL line of colors.
    Nameste.
    Mc Huggs :)

  55. Deb says:

OMG! Two of them look like they have holo glitter! I NEED these!

  56. Polisholic says:

Hi, when will these be available?

  57. Lauren says:

LOVING the shatter, maybe not over glitters though? seems like overkill. anyway, Mc Huggs mentioned the idea of adding different textures to nails, which reminded me of something you posted awhile back.
I can’t remember which company it was offhand, but someone was coming out with a ‘tweed effect’ topcoat. did that already happen?

  58. Larkin says:

doesn’t anyone remember the “shatter” trend was done by CoverGirl years ago!?

    • Bronwyn says:

I think they do- the crackles. That’s probably why OPI named it shatter, trying to differentiate.

To be fair, it does look a bit different, but still, both polishes are just an adaptation of the painting technique, hehe.

    • Deeana says:

I remember! I had this yellow orange crackle coat that came out around halloween. I think that’s why she was so quick to correct herself when she accidentally said “crackle”. I wonder if OPI’s will be better though because the quality of the Cover Girl polish wasn’t very good at all.

  59. shima says:

    when are these out?

  60. AmyS says:

It’s Cover Girl crackle nail polish all over again! Hopefully the OPI formula will be better because I remember the bottle I have being a gloppy mess and it didn’t finish as pretty as the pictures. Yes, they will be on my must buy list…LOL!!

  61. Melissa says:

I am totally intrigued by the crackle polish. And for some reason Teenage Dream is grabbing my attention, and I am not a glitter polish fan at all. Seeing swatches will definitely confirm weather these two will be coming home with me in the future.

  62. Natalie says:

I’m so disappointed! Katy Perry has such a fun unique personal style but aside from the Black Shatter polish I don’t see anything amazing that I just have to have. Another gunmetal and shimmery burgundy? There are millions of polishes out there like that already. I was really hoping she’d come up with something really different!

    • Delian says:

good point, but katy isnt really the ones creating the polish colours… they’re simply using her name. my mom, someone who works in the fashion industry, told me that all collabarations are just a company using a celebs name… i mean, do you really think that justin beiber picked colours for his collection with niole by OPI?

  63. Rachael says:

Most excited about Teenage Dream!! I love your Comment for a Cure campaign – thank you!

  64. TamsG says:

Ahhhhh…I was hoping the glitters would be less sheer as well! I am defo getting the black ‘shatter’ tho!

  65. Kathryn says:

at CVS this evening, I saw a cheapy brand polish called Confetti and they have two that look exactly like LFN and teenage Dream

  66. Anna says:

These are great, I love them and Katy Perry so will definitely be buying! But I personally prefer the look of the BarryM instant nail effects (which I own) to this one..

  67. Polisholic says:

I agree with Nataile, this collection is kind of boring and not something different u would expect from Katy Perry! i wounder if these glitter polishes are like the burlesque glitters? if not, i’ll pass on them :-(

  68. michelle says:

OMG THIS IS AMAZING. NEED IT.

  69. smALtY says:

I expected something different…But I’ll wait until I see the real swatches to decide!

  70. Jessica says:

Not Like The Movies will be coming home with me. I love LOVE gunmetal/charcoal gray. Teenage Dream looks cute as well, I could see myself picking that one up too. Not sure about any of the others though.

  71. Jimmy K. Designs says:

I’m holding judgement until i see your swatches :D

  72. Alison says:

I’m not Katy’s biggest fan, but she always has fun, beautiful nails. I’m not really sure how much personal input she had; most celebrities aren’t as involved as people think.

Maybe she’ll wear one of her colors when she gets married to Russell Brand.

  73. lauriestrode says:

Really like this set – and now needs an intervention, before I spend a months salary on nail polish :D

  74. Isabella says:

The blue glitter looks just awesome!

  75. Decor Girl says:

Oooh, love the blue, pink and magenta those are all wearable without inviting judgement.

Hey, I’m in Cleveland too, glad I found you! Nice blog.

  76. christina says:

how great to see they give us more teasers in advance!

  77. Deb says:

Ha! I just found and pitched a Revlon Street Wear polish that looked a whole lot like Not Like the Movies. I love the color, but the Street Wear polish was probably 10 years old!

I am also drawn to Teenage Dream, but I have at least 3 other glitter pinks, so I’d have to see it on my nails.

  78. Courtney says:

My type of colors for nails.

  79. MJ says:

Surprisingly, I really like Not Like the Movies, The One That Got Away, and Teenage Dream. I’m not a huge fan of pinks, but I love the depth of The One That Got Away, and the bright sparkle in Teenage Dream. I think the gunmetal is pretty, too.

Crackle effect is interesting, I would be willing to try it for sure.

  80. ASH says:

    HOT! I LOVE THIS!!!!
I SOOO WANT IT!!!! THIS IS SOOO ON MY WISH LIST!!!!! XX

  81. maddie says:

when is this nail polish coming out and where do you get it?

    • kate says:

its coming out in january. and i usually get opis from ulta, any salon/makeup kinda store, and trade secrets

  82. kate says:

i like the blue glittery one and of course the shatter effect polish. i think the blue glitter is soooooooo katy.

  83. angela says:

barry m sell a shatter one which is amazing and under

  84. Sara says:

Hi, i live in Sweden and work at a hairdresser salon and our supplier from OPI visited us today and showed us this collection. Totally awesome, I’m so eager to get it in January! :)
    Have a great day!

  85. alexxxxxxxxxx says:

i want teenage dream and black shatter

  86. Quelle says:

Just letting you know that about 3 or 4 months ago I picked up a shatter effect polish by a drugstore brand (BYS). You could get not only black, but a fuschia, indigo & yellow. Retails for about AU$3.50.
    The craze has already begun.

  87. Erin says:

I was kind of hoping that she was going to have a great vintage blue-red :(

  88. Jakeline says:

where can I buy those online? thanks in advance :)

  89. Lou Razzano says:

When demonstrating the Black Shatter, it is unfortunate that Krista didn’t paint the Black Shatter over a bottom coat of a contrasting nail polish such as a white or a shocking pink or even a gold or orange color–that is the way that a crackling nail polish looks best–I know, because I am the son of the inventor of crackling nail polish, and I was responsible for it being sold in stores back in 2000 through 2002 by Cover Girl, however Cover Girl used a different formulation than my father’s, which was inferior to his, and had many problems–both in application and in removal. This new Black Shatter–I believe–is his original, problem-free formula. I am currently the owner of that patent, and I agree that the focus and lighting in the official OPI video is not good.

    • Laurel says:

      Hi Lou,
I am hugely intrigued by this product. I bought a similar product in asia. The polish does not split off as much in that one when compared to the opi version. I am working on a material science project that requires me to figure out the materials of nail polish. It would be great if you can send me the link to the patent and also design decisions/requiremnt that allowed your father to decide on the material.

I just want to say that my friends are amazed by the look that this lacquer creates!

      Laurel
      lau.laurel [at] gmail.com

  90. Lou Razzano says:

If OPI comes out with a different color Shatter than plain black, I suggest that users paint it over a cool, contrasting dry bottom coat of nail polish that can be seen in the cracks above–that’s the ay that crackling nail polish was intended to be used.

  91. Anna says:

    where Can I order allofem!!!

  92. Delian says:

    SO AMAZING.

  93. Maggie says:

    Already ordered all of them:)

  94. Josie says:

I went to a salon to purchase this nail polish. The shattered one and it only works on Kate Perrys line apparently. The lady working at the salon had tried the nail polish on other OPI colors and it didnt work. Which bummed me out because im not really into glitter. Anyone else heard of this?

    • Laurel says:

I heard the opposite at the salon..that it does work with other polish brands. I will be trying it soon.

      • Laurel says:

Yes, it does work with other nail polish than the katy perry line. Just make sure polish is dry before putting on the shatter and don’t spend too much time with the shatter cuz it clumps and dries quickly. Very cute tho…I love it!

  95. PinkSquiggle says:

I have two polishes from the Katy Perry Collection- Last Friday Night and The One That Got Away. I have to say that LFN is pretty dissapointing- the glitter is chunky, clumpy and quite see-through so it takes many coats to get an opaque effect. TOGA IMO is quite pretty and shimmering.

  96. Fatima says:

OMG i am so totally buying this thx for the review!!!!! :D

  97. Erin says:

I was totally hoping for hot pinks and aqua and turquoise colours. These colours kinda suck. I’ll be looking into shatter though.

  98. Bridget says:

I love katy perry.. she is genious!!!!!!!!!!

  99. May says:

I just applied 2 coats of Not like the movies let it dry
Then one coat of shatter and one top coat

Applied shatter just like nail polish it will
Separate. I thought I have to use a lighter consistency

    I am so loving it

  100. leah says:

I used the shattered polish and I’ve tried it every possible way. and it sucks. It was too thick. I added polish thinner to it and it still ceased to disappoint me. I even got a professional to apply it for me, and yet it still did not turn out. I give a 1 out of 10 for the shattered polish. Did not enjoy it, and am very disappointed. Waste of good money spent.

    • tera says:

umm it worked PRETTY good for me (: obviously your adding way too much SHATTER on one nail …. go over it ONCE then it should apply to crack .
      I

    • stephanie says:

Make sure you’re not using China Glaze.. Crackle, that stuff seriously sucks and i had a professional apply that and all.

  101. Ashlee says:

You know Leah that ceased means to stop right? So it ceased to disappoint you, it stopped disappointing you? Then I’m in! Haha

  102. Mary says:

I just go the shatter polish, and I put a hot pink first coat on then covered it with the shatter. It turned out really well. I used the Teenage Dream shade first, and I didnt think it looked as good, the pink wasn’t bright enough. So I tried a different color. I like it. I found that if I tried to do a thicker coat it made the shatter look funny, or not shatter correctly. One light, single stroke across the nail did the trick.

  103. Sarah says:

The “cracked” nailpolish has been done many time. A better version of it, is the long time famed Nail Effects by Barry M.

    http://www.barrym.com/products/product.asp?id=155

    • Cassia says:

I totally agree with you Sarah and I just bought today the polish in Boots for only

      • julie says:

what I noticed about the Barry M one was that it dried up and thickenned in the bottle sooo quick it was unusable within a matter of weeks. It looke the part while it was usable tho.

  104. steph says:

So. Frustrated with opi how they have not suapplied enough of this katy perry collection…I have been trying for almost a month to acquire her collection..They ran out and didn’t estimate that it would sell out or sell so fast…opi u better be making more of this collection or I will be writing more upseting letters to u…thanks…. disgruntled friend.. steph

  105. meme says:

I am loving Smash-ing, but agree with most of you that Shatter ends up looking like pieces of a black rubber inner tube on top of my nails. Liking the Crackles from CG way better in application spread. For those of you upset that KP sold out too fast, don’t stop looking (and don’t pay top prices on eBay)…OPI is making more of the collection due to contracts they could not fill with the first original run. The 2nd run of this collection is hitting suppliers now. Rare OPI does this…but when it sold out in less than 24 hrs, they had to do something to appease those long term sellers/suppliers/reps.

  106. Adriana says:

I just bought a Black Shatter this past week not knowing that it was even affiliated to Katy Perry. It wasn’t until a customer at work pointed it out to me. I actually buy all of my nail polishes at a nail supply in San Gabriel, CA. I got it for $9 dollars and they still had plenty of stock. Here is the info. if anyone is in Southern California:

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/nail-supply-house-san-gabriel-2

(But I think I will be trying the Barry M. cracked product next time since it looks like the effect is slightly better than Black Shatter, although I’m really liking OPI’s version)

  107. kerstin says:

i got not like the movies with black shatter topcoat and it looks amazing!! it was really cool to see it happen too (: i love it!

  108. Misti says:

I used a loud neon green base and shattered on top….LOVE IT!

  109. kelsey says:

So I want to get the crackle nail polish, but I don’t want to have to buy the other katy perry nail polish to go with it. Does anyone know if the crackle works on any OPI nail polish?

  110. Patrice M says:

I just bought the shattered I’m in love with it , I got the black one no sparkle no glitter . & I applied a hot pink then put the black shattered ontop and watched it as it shattered . It was amazing . I applied it on my toes to . & catches everyones eyes . (: I hope that they will have more amazing colors but without the sparkle ! This product made my day

    • Erica says:

They are coming out with white and silver shatter in the Pirates of the Carribean line for this summer and 3 different shades of blue for May I believe.

      • Erica says:

They are also releasing red in May. The 3 different blue shades will be navy, turquoise, and blue(which kind of looks like royal blue). So as of May there will be black, white, silver, red, blue, navy, and turquoise shatter nail polishes by OPI.

        • Nancy says:

I already have the blue shatter, red shatter, white shatter and black shatter!!! It looks so amazing!:) I applied it with fluro green polish underneath and it looks soo pretty!!! I love OPI!!!!!!!

  111. tema luft-gerhardt says:

where can you buy shatered i cant fibd it antwhere in baltimore md

Hey can you tell me where you found it? I can’t find it anywhere :(

  114. leexii. says:

where do you buy this stunning collection??

  115. Christine says:

I used the Shattered nailpolish and it is awful. Within a day of wearing it, it was chipped off like crazy. Maybe if you are between the ages of 11-15 it is cute, but not when you are an adult buying an overpriced nailpolish. Don’t waste your time.

    • Erica says:

I used the shattered polish and put a clear top coat over it and I actually found that my nail polish lasted days longer with it on over my color.

  116. Alejandra Amador says:

Here in Indiana they’re are like no stores that sell Katy perrys collection :( where did you guys get yours? Or do you guys know any website online that they sell is for a cheap price? Let me know! Thanks :)

    • well you can go on ebay the have it for like cheap price im sure you can find it there they can sip it to you ttyl

    • funy says:

They do sell it in Indiana – try Ulta, BeautyBrands Beauty First, Trade Secret, or any other place that sells OPI. OPI has a “where to buy” tab on their website where you can find a store near your zip code.

  117. sdafgds says:

LOVE IT. got it and the shatter and other four colours. i love the sparkley ones and the shiney one! make sure you shake well before using the shatter, and for bestest results, apply TWO coats of the colour. you dont have to use the katy perry stuff either, any polish underneath will work. 9 out of 10! everyones so jelous!

  118. Krista says:

Does the Black Shatter ONLY work on the Katy Perry collection? Which shades does it work on! I bought the black shatter, but now I don’t want to use it over top of any random OPI shade…..

  119. Krista says:

oops, I JUST READ THE COMMENT ABOVE! I’m silly.. Thanks y’all!

  120. pam kormanec says:

I love the Black Shatter. I think the trick is to keep it thin.

hey i was just wondering i live in Australia, Melbourne, Can you buy them in Australia?, if so where? :( cuz i love Katy Perry and i wanna buy the nail collection xx

    • Cait says:

I myself live in Melbourne,Australia and I have seen it in some places. Try the Carribean Market as they have $5 and $6 authentic OPI Nail polishs in some stalls. I haven’t looked in other markets but you could also try Camberwell Market or Victoria Market. Try chemists and beauty stores aswell.David Jones have OPI (but it would be quite expensive there)so you could also try looking there.

  124. tawni says:

  130. Kimberly says:

Where can I buy these nail polishes of Katy Perry?

  131. Jane says:

I bought my Katy Perry Shatter at JCPenney in the hair salon. They have every color, plus the Pirates of the Caribbean collection.

  132. Natalie says:

Does anyone else find that the Black Shatter gets really thick and clump, really fast??

    • All Lacquered Up says:

I’ve heard that from several people. OPI said on their Facebook page that you can add a little thinner to it but use it sparingly, less than you would in a traditional polish.

  133. i love justin bieber says:

  138. Angie says:

Ok so I have to say that I LOVE the black shatter. Looks way cute over bold bright colors & looks awesome with clear coat on top… BUT today I bought the red & the turquiose blue shatter & they totally suck (or they do for me so far). I’ve tried putting it on thinner, thicker, from side to side vs up & down like normal & I just cant make it look good. Any suggestions?? Thanks!! Ang in Evansville

    • All Lacquered Up says:

How long did you wait for it to dry before applying the shatter? What does it look like when you apply it? Is it not shattering at all?

  139. Maya says:

From reading all ur comments i want the shatter so much, for those people in Canada. Where do i buy it????

  140. Alexandra says:

Wow its amazing how the same question is repeated on all these comments. Maybe READING will help!!! Btw love the shatter effect!!!
