OPI Swiss Collection for Fall 2010 Preview

opi-swiss-collection-fall-2010 Happy Friday Fanatics!  The Fall promos are on a roll and today I have images of the OPI Swiss collection.

As you can see, we have another lovely looking green headed our way as well as some cool blues but I’m surprised at the number of reds.  We know from history that the holiday collection will launch not not long after and will include six reds so this seems like overkill to me.  I get that their flag is red but how about a fab sparkling white then?

Get an up close look at the collection after the jump!

If I could swap out the blue in the top row with the red in the bottom row, I’d be happy to call this a six piece collection and call it a day.

Of course these artist’s rendering type bottle images won’t tell us much so I’m really hoping that all the blues and greens aren’t cremes.  Based on the image above it looks like the top row is cremes and the bottom is shimmers/glitters.  Don’t you agree?

Maybe it’s just me but the Irre-Swiss-Ables mini set has more of a 4th of July Americana feel than it does Swiss.  I wonder how they choose which shades to include in the mini set.  It’s like NEVER the green.

The OPI Swiss Collection launches on August 1st, 2010.  OPI is sold at salons and spas nationwide including chains like Beauty Express, JC Penney, Regis, Trade Secret and ULTA.

Are you all jazzed for the Swiss collection?  Do you think it represents the country well?  Which shades are you dying to see most?

  1. Altea says:

    Wow

  2. Nat says:

I’ve already spotted “ski teal we drop” and “Cucoo for this color”,the rest… well we’ve seen it right?
I’ve been living in Switzerland for 7 years now, and I think OPI fall’s collection totally represents this conservative country… though a reference to “banks” is missing!lol

  3. Can’t wait, saw it on her site too and had to blog about it! I’m thrilled and exited at the same time :)

  4. Altea says:

Oh and yeah, too bad for the minis
I love Mini-Sets, but they always seem to pick the blah colors

  5. Natalia says:

Diva of Geneva, Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, Glitzerland all look like they’re going to be anazing! Love OPI and cannot wait for this collection, but I wish for a sparkling white too

  6. Isabelle says:

Oh man! I’m already tempted with a bunch of these!

  7. These look very ‘fall’ to me, which I’m really happy about. Great shades :) Can’t wait!

  8. Jackie S. says:

yeah that mini-set sucks, but the last three listed, the blue, purple and green are on my hit list..must haves!

    • JanieD says:

I really really miss “Parlez Vous OPI ! Hoping that there’s something close to it in the fall collection. The green looks totally kool and I wish, as I’ve been being promised, that the collection arrives this week.

      • Emily C says:

SO DO I!! I just got it at a salon and I love it but I couldn’t find it in a store. They sell it on Amazon though :)

  9. Sonya says:

I like some of the colors but want to see them in person. I think that these are some of the cheesiest names yet, in a good way. :)

  10. Sarah says:

AMAZING collection…I liked the green and blue the most.
wish I could find it in my country
thanx a lot for sharing this :D

  11. Kelsey says:

I’m really pleased that OPI has been coming out with more awesome greens and blues lately! I am definitely getting the green and 2 blues from this collection.

  12. Andrea says:

This is bazar, but not of these colours seem to really interest me… wtf? Maybe I’ll change my mind when I see the bottles in person or the swatches on your site. It might also be that I really like cremes, and I don’t think that most of these are. Well, hopefully I’ll change my mind because I love rich colours in the Fall!

  13. Jamie says:

Well, there are a lot of reds, but I’m cutting back on OPI purchases anyway now that I have to pay more, so I just won’t pick up on them. So I think I’ll be getting William Tell, Ski Teal We Drop, and (imho the best of the bunch!) Cucoo for this color. (Though I thought there was a “k” in that word.) If I had been paying the old lower prices at an etailer, I would have also bought Glitzerland, Lucertainly Look Marvelous, and Yodel Me on my Cell.

  14. NailPolishFan says:

I’m really liking a lot of the colors in the colletion. I’m a huge fan of red nail polish and I’m also liking the blues, teals, and brown.

  15. sinead says:

does anyone know why they are liquidating opi at head2toebeauty.com, 8ty8beauty.com and now transdesign.com?

    • Jamie says:

My understanding is that OPI sued Transdesign for copyright infringement because Transdesign was not an authorized dealer and that OPI recently won the case. To be honest, I wish we were talking about this a little bit –

    • Anna says:

OPI is suing e-tailers that are selling OPI for below like retail price ($8.50). You should buy the colors you want before they all sell for $8.50. I think this is why Essie is regular priced at etailers too.

    • lexie says:

This is all so awful for international customers. OPI sells for approximately $13.64 per bottle where I live. I mean, at least make them the same price worldwide if you’re going to stop etailers from selling them.

  16. I have to admit that I’m super excited for this collection!! Can’t wait :)

  17. Violet says:

This collection is a big YES for me! I have been hoping that there will be something great for fall – everything in the blue-green-purple-silver range is right up my alley. Really looking forward to this one!

  18. queen frostine says:

I find this collection to be much more promising than OPI’s last few fall collections, though I can’t say which I’m really eyeing as OPI bottle promo pics are often misleading. They always look photoshopped within an inch of their life and therefore sometimes don’t accurately convey what a shade really looks like. I’ll definitely be skipping the reds, and likely Diva of Geneva (as it’s probably near identical to the plum/magenta shades they’ve put out with the last few fall collections) and William Tell Me About OPI as I’ve bought enough LPAD-ish shades from OPI to last me a lifetime. The blues, grey, lavender and green all look exciting though.

  19. igswonderworld says:

Is it me or does Yodel Me On My Cell look like the new Sephora OPI Havana Nights color Teal We Meet Again?

  20. Stephanie says:

Yes yes these greens and blues look AHHHHmazing, but what is this seeing about a Summer Flutter collection? What can you tell me about these?

  21. Angie says:

Loving the look of the greens and blues.

  22. Christine says:

Oh wow I’m excited! Looking forward to The Color to Watch, Diva of Geneva, Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, Just a Little R

  23. Jamie says:

I am interested in the greens for sure need to see swatches before I make up my mind.
I still haven’t seen Opi’s Flutter anywhere on the blogs did I miss it?

    • Stephanie says:

I have seen it on a bunch of blogs and they all say out in May. But I there is nothing on the OPI official site.

  24. Elodie says:

Yeaaah OPI thought about us Swiss people !
But I’m not really sure the colors represent us well ! Ok, our flag is red but but I think it’s a bit clich

  25. Erin says:

Cucoo for This Color looks sweeeeeeet! And you’re right, the mini set NEVER includes the green. Or anything cool for that matter.

By the way, what’s up with the e-tailers removing OPI from their sites? Like 8ty8 and Transdesign?

  26. Caitlin G. says:

I feel like whenever there is a mini pack they should have like 2 of the standout colors and NO topcoat…
I am really sick of all the reds too…
but I think that Ski Til We Drop is pretty.
    :)
    x

  27. Nicki says:

I agree with the comment about the Reds – too many. When I think of Switzerland, I immediately think of snow. A sparkling white would have been the perfect addition to this collection.

  28. Kimberly says:

The Color to Watch and Glitzerland are the two that stand out for me. But, like many have stated, seeing is believing. And I agree, the mini collection works for July 4th.

  29. GG says:

The greens, blues and that silver are beautiful, but I really depended on e-tailers for my polish collecting, and now that I’m stuck waiting months and months for collections to come out in Australia, and then, worse, paying AUD$20 each for a polish, I won’t be buying them. For shame, OPI. Way to alienate the most loyal part of your customer base.

  30. grace says:

I hate when they put a treatment in the damn mini set. As if anybody doesn’t already have a top coat. I wonder how close that teal will be to RBL teal.

Although… I have no idea where I’ll be getting these from now that OPI has pulled their polishes from the e-tailers. If I have to pay the full 8.50 a bottle, I certainly won’t be picking up as many as I might have.

    • Mascha says:

I certainly won’t be paying 8.50 for a bottle of OPI!!! I’m switching to Zoya – their colors are getting more and more amazing and the formula is improving with every collection. Check out their Summer 2010 Charla – WOW – much better than OPI’s Catch me in your net and for $7 instead of $8.50 -$9! Besides, we still have till June 30 to participate in Zoya’s Exchange program and get their wonderful polishes for $3.50 if you send them your old polish bottles!!!
Misa and China glaze are great, too.
Trust me, we’ll survive without OPI, let’s see how OPI will succeed without us.

    • right? i have already started looking at China Glaze. Sucks!

  31. Rachel says:

For some reason I am compelled to buy all blue and green nail polish. BUT if I wasn’t able to get them at a discount from work I would not pay $9 for any of them.

  32. Meghan says:

Hmmm some of the colors look similar to the hong kong colors while some of them look similar to cg’s vintage vixen collection.

    • Nicole says:

I agree, Cucoo for this Colour reminds me of Jade is the New Black, and Yodell Me on My Cell reminds me of Suzi Says Feng Shui. I’m hoping they’ll look a little different in person, maybe slightly more shimmery than the Hong Kong colours?

      • Rains says:

The Cuckoo is a shimmery color. It’s really interesting looking in person and it doesn’t look anything like Jade is the new black. It’s always hard to tell from just the bottle shots though!!!

  33. Arrianne says:

Meh, I’ll have to see swatches before I can decide.

  34. CY says:

I am a big fan of OPI. The Swiss Collection is lovely and I guess it reflects Switzerland pretty well as the color a mostly quite cool looking color. But there are a little bit too much red tone in it as not long after the Fall/Winter Collection is out, OPI will have the Holiday Collection and mainly they are red/purple/brown sort of color. I do hope the Holiday Collection of 2010 will be something more like Christmas lights that will have heaps of different colors as Christmas is not just Santa Claus in red or simply just red. A variety of color is good.

  35. Molly says:

Confused. Is it the smaller collection or the larger one? I buy OPI at local Trade Secret — have I been missing the larger collections all these years? LOVE the blog, ALU!!

  36. Chaosbutterfly says:

Glitzerland, Cucoo for This Color, and The Color to Watch look promising.
All the others look kind of boring.

LOL @ how they never put the green in the minisets.
And of course, they always put a red. Ahahahaa!!

  37. omg this is really beautiful! what am I going to do with out Trans! I will probably only get to buy two :’(. This is when I need a friend that is a manicurist!

  38. sara says:

some of these have the potential to be really interesting…the chocolate, teal, greenish and silvery.

i will definitely wait until you get an advance set and hopefully can tell us if any of these are direct dupes to the HK collection or anything else.

it is definitely going to be a collection where i need to pick and choose what to buy…as without transdesign i pay

  39. Kelsey says:

    There, I fixed it! :)

I wish that they would sell the collection like this in two sets of 6. As it is, I am just going to get the two blues and the one green (and possibly the silvery purple).

  40. Sandi says:

OPI’s done, stick a fork in ‘em. They’re old, tired and boring.

  41. Julia says:

aaahh, LOVE the names! especially “Just a Little R

  42. Jamie says:

I want five of these so far hopefully the swatches will get me down to three.

  43. celia says:

I can’t wait! ‘Glitzerland’ and ‘Diva of Geneva’ look beautiful! Can’t wait for August!

  44. Megan says:

Have you received your Swiss collection yet? When will you post swatches?

  45. JanieD says:

I miss “Parlez Vous OPI something terrible. I’ve tried China Glaze and Essie and they totally suck. I’ll be glad to pay $8.50 a bottle for the quality, color and durability over any of these “wanna be” OPI companies any day.

  46. Carolina says:

I love that there is some sparkle back! Even my clients were getting bored of all the matt colors in the last few seasons. LOL

  47. Cindy says:

Got Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous, Yodel Me On My Cell, The Color To Watch, and William Tell Me About OPI. In the picture I saw, Lucerne-tainly Look Marvelous loooked greenish, it is silver, but I still like it. William Tell Me About OPI looks like a nice deep purple, but is momre on the plum or reddish side. The others are just as I thought they would be.

  48. BlushDiva says:

I love OPI so much! i allready ordered Yodel Me on My Cell :)
