Where To Find CND Shellac
Ever since I reviewed CND Shellac, that has been your number one inquiry. I can’t tell you how many emails I’ve received from fellow Fanatics all over the world desperate to try it. You have no idea how I wish I could help you all but I don’t even know where to find Shellac in Cleveland let alone the rest of the globe.
Here’s the thing… Shellac hasn’t even officially launched yet. There are a handful of salons around the country that have been trained to perform the service but for the majority of the world, it doesn’t start shipping until May. Also because it is a salon service, it’s not as simple as just carrying the product. The technicians have to be trained before using it. So how do you find Shellac in your area?
Unfortunately, the answer is you have to hunt down a salon on your own.
Use the Find A Salon search on CND.com. The search engine lists names of manicurists in your area who are trained on CND products and which ones they use. Because Shellac is so new I didn’t see it listed on anyone in my area so I suggest calling names off the list to see if they will be using Shellac. If they aren’t, perhaps receiving calls inquiring about the product will encourage them to use it.
Personally, I’m hoping that Cleveland’s own rock star manicurist, Julie Kandalec, will start using Shellac at Jennifer & Co. in Mentor (hint hint to Julie!) because I’m really looking forward to trying it on my toes and thanks to the new CND UV lamp that can fit a whole hand/foot I should be able to!

My regular nail lady has been trying to get this product in her shop since it was launched. I feel that if this product was launched in may 2010, why does it take soooooo loooooong to get to the professional salons? This happens to be almost the end of 2010, in case you haven’t noticed. The Midwest has just as much desire and need for the lastest products. If the company couldn’t handle the demand,why did they demo this to the professionals all acrossed the U.S.?
Your company needs to keep up with supply and demand.

I just got the lamp today at Cosmoprof in Newmarket.. I’m not sure where you are but they have top/base coat and most colours at Pickering/Markham and Newmarket On. Hope it helps, you may even have it already

I live in Toronto and there are a lot of places that have Shellac now. I go to Strawberry Fields at Kingston Road/Vic Park. If you go to the CND SHellac website there are a bunch of salons listed for Toronto.

I’m on my second try of Shellac and I really hope I found a salon that know what they are doing!
My first try with Shellac was with a nail salon I found on the CND website. They did a horrible job and it started chipping and pealing after two days.
I got a Shellac Manicure in Las Vegas in January, the 6th and it still looks great a month later. I’m sold. No chips, no smudges, great color.
where did you go to get this done? i’m new to the area and i’m used to a real spa experience regarding my pedicure and love shellac for my manicure but have no idea where to go!
I have had shellac done twice. The first was last summer (August 2010) and then just about 3 weeks ago again. It is absolutely amazing. I would have it done all the time except htat its a bit pricey. I am getting it done again tomorrow and only because of the growth of my nails and the gap now between my cuticles and the start of the colour. Otherwise, it looks like the day I got it done. I am simply amazed at this product.
The Shellac base coat, top coat & colors are available to buy on Amazon. You do not have to be a nail professional to do the Shellac. I purchased the UV light and the polish from Amazon and it was amazingly easy! Anyone that currently paints their nails can do this! After a few times of doing it myself, the UV light & polishes have for themselves because I don’t have to go to a salon.
What wattage of UV light did you buy? I’m seeing 9Watt lights for a reasonable price. What did you use to clean your nails before, and then to remove the stickiness after?

Did you find out the wattage of UV light? Also, what to use to clean nails before and do you need to use a special remover wrap or simply cotton ball and acetone? I saw where you need to use SolarOil to keep nails and cuticles moisturized.

I use an alcohol prep wipe used to prep you for a shot at your doctors office… it leaves no fibre residue and must be done to finish the cure. You can also use rubbing alcohol on cotton ball.
