The 2010 Zoya Nail Polish Exchange

To celebrate Earth Day, Zoya has brought back their Nail Polish Exchange program. It’s a way for you to properly dispose of your old nail polish in exchange for some new Zoya 3-Free shades.  So if you have bottles of old crusty polish laying around that you just can’t salvage, even with a bottle of thinner, or if you’re looking to update your nail wardrobe, send your polishes to Zoya and let them handle the disposal.

Do you have old bottles of nail polish , used or unused, laying around, collecting dust and tying up your valuable money? If you do, and we know you do, then this is the perfect program for you.

For a limited time, kicking off in April, in time for Earth Day 2010, Zoya will replace your old nail polish (any brand other than Zoya, Qtica or Nocti) with any brand new Zoya Nail Polish shade and properly dispose of your old polish according EPA guidelines. Choose from over 300 ready-to-wear, formaldehyde, toluene, camphor and dibutyl phthalate free, award winning colors (Zoya Nail Polish was awarded the longest wearing nail polish in Women’s Helath magazine)! Yep, an offer that’s as good for the planet as it is for your beauty budget – Wow!

There is a minimum of 6 bottles and no maximum (exchange as many bottles as you want as often as you would like)

All you have to do is complete the form on the Zoya website, choose your colors, ship them your old polish and pay a $3.50/bottle fee for shipping and processing. So you’re paying half price for brand new Zoyas and clearing out your stash in an eco-friendly way.  What a deal!

You have from now until June 30, 2010 to take advantage of this offer.  What colors are you planning to get?

This is beyond cruel. Open to US only. I understand why, of course! But it is so painful to see this all over the blogosphere when one knows one can’t participate….

    • Shatteredshards says:

Well, I don’t know about shipping in other countries, but I do know that the US Postal Service has very strict laws against shipping nail polish outside of the country; either you need to be a company with a special permit, or you do it as what amounts to illegally.

    • Altea says:

I’m suffering with you..I have so many bottles I could have exchanged and so many zoya colors I like…

    • Debzy says:

Why don’t Uk companies do this???

  2. LacquerMuse says:

I’m getting Indigo, Roxy, Charla, Elke, Delilah, Sienna, Pinta, and LA Pop. Can’t wait!

  3. Shatteredshards says:

Perhaps their site is just being flooded, or perhaps there’s some sort of compatability issue with Firefox, but I keep getting stuck in endless load when I try to get the form. I was excited to try the offer out this year, but now I’m getting turned off; it’s becoming a waste of my time.

  4. Looking through old polishes now!

  5. grace says:

I don’t have too many old polishes in my stash, but I’m tempted to buy some cheap $.99 polishes at a discount store and mail them in.

  6. Deb says:

The first ever polish exchange is what got me into Zoya. Unfortunately, I don’t have any bottles of polish that I feel compelled to part with. Before, I unloaded some OPIs that were impulse buys that I ended up not liking.

  7. Riddhi says:

Deidre for sure. Also looking at Sienna.

Any nudes to recommend for a light-brown skinned indian girl?

And I can’t wait to see what other people on here recommend. :D

  8. Echo7 says:

I got rid of 12 old polishes I hate (mainly browns and just some old thickened-beyond-saving ones). I ordered the following – Annie, Jancyn, Isla, Anaka, Sweet, Gabrielle, Gilda, Audrina, Alegra, Salma, Venus and Kiki. Can’t wait to get them!!!

  9. Rachael says:

How exciting!! These will actually be my first Zoya colors, and I’m thrilled for this great opportunity to get rid of some of the bottles I’ve been hanging on to just because I haven’t yet researched how to properly dispose of them.

I’m getting America, Delilah, Raven, Charlize, Helen, Tama, and Kali.

Wish we didn’t have to pay shipping. I’m thinking about doing it. I’ll want Southbeach Ice, Jo, Adina, Vegas Freeze, Elke, and Zara. I like the glamsicles collection a lot online and was wondering if they are opaque or sheer and will need need lots of coats to achieve opaque?

    • All Lacquered Up says:

The Glamsicles are very sheer. They really don’t build up to opaque. I remember being so excited about South Beach Ice only to that it’s very sheer. Good for layering but not on its own. Jo, Adina, Elke & Zara are all excellent choices. I’d suggest Ki if you don’t already own it.

  11. Jennifer says:

can anyone name some brands that are eligible?

    • All Lacquered Up says:

All brands except Art of Beauty brands (Zoya, Qtica & Nocti) are eligible. So any nail polish you have can be sent in as long as it’s not made by AOB.

  12. Meika says:

what about base and top coats? I have 6 or 7 that I have that didn’t work for me.

  13. Lauren says:

I’m a little bummed that all their colors aren’t available for the exchange. I wanted Jancyn and Jolene, but they are not part of the selection. :( I’m also curious if base/top coats count. They don’t say anything about it.

    • Lauren says:

wait… I take it back! I had checked all the color choices. If you uncheck all the color choices, they both appear. :)

      • ChannelZero says:

I’m so glad you posted this! I was all bummed that I couldn’t select Gwin, but I unchecked all the choices and there it was. I think I’m also Getting Penny, Midori, Goldie, Ginessa, Adina, and Katy.

So glad to run into your site ALU! I’m a founder of a natural & organic body care line and was excited to hear about Zoya’s program from you. I am going to go through my stash of old nail polish (O.P.I. , MAC & CND) and share the info on our blog. We’ll be sure to let our customers know about ALU! Thanks for sharing! This is perfect for celebrating Earth Month!

  15. Ronnie says:

The entire Reverie collection. After that I don’t know, but probably at least Gaia and Trixie as well. Oh the joy!

  16. Emily says:

Hi I just ordered half the website. I may need a 12 step program…i had a “lust list that i was gonna chip away at but the price is just so good i talked myself into it :) plus my tax return helped fund the madness! i’ve been collecting old crappy bottles of polish from everyone i know and i’ll be sending them in next week. Thanks ALU for the heads up!

  17. Lee says:

I exchanged for Bailey, Kylie2, Astra, Maya, Morgan, Max, Freja, and Kali!

  18. Jenny says:

I exchanged for Gia, Raven, Charisma, Cassi, Grace, Pippa, Robyn, and Kiki. First time trying Zoya, hope I like them!

  19. Laura says:

Anyone have recommendations for good nude colors and a true red. I have trouble discerning the swatches. Thanks!!!

How are you shipping your old polishes to Zoya?
I called Zoya’s customer service department and the woman with whom I spoke said to ship the polishes as “consumer commodity” but that didn’t work.

I have 13 polishes wrapped very neatly in individual plastic bags and stored inside another zip-top plastic bag.

I tried to ship this package via Fedex Kinko’s and the sales associate informed me (very rudely) that Fedex does not ship nail polish. I called the UPS desk at Office Depot to find out if UPS ships nail polish and they said they did not. I know I can’t use USPS, so how am I going to get these polishes back to Zoya? Help!
