Mannequin Hands with Dior, Lippmann and OPI

mannequin-hands-kyl Mannequin Hands is a new series featuring ALU Fanatics showing off their “mannequin hands” shade.  The one polish that best gives that elongated, flesh-toned look to their hands.

Today we have a former Cleveland gal (Go CLE!) sharing her mannequin hands with us.  Kyl from The Beauty Couch sent in pics of her three favorite shades from Dior, Lippmann and OPI. Kyl is a MAC NW15 or L’Oreal True Match N1/N2 so if you think she may be your hand twin, check out her picks after the jump!

Kyl chose Dior Nude Chic, Lippmann Sarah Smile and OPI Tickle My France-y (seems to be a fanatic fave) and here’s what she has to say about them…

Dior Nude ChicProbably my favorite. This was a birthday treat because usually I can’t spend over $10 on nail polish. But, the application is gorgeous. I find that thin layers are best, though. It can look “thick” otherwise.

Lippmann Sarah SmileLove this shade, but it requires 3 coats to even approach opaque.

OPI Tickle My France-yAlso sheer, a less pink-y and more taupe-y nude

Where are Kyl’s skin tone twins?  Have you tried any of these to get the mannequin hands look?  Thoughts on these shades?

Don’t forget, you have until January 15th to share your Mannequin Hands with the group. CLICK HERE for more details.

That Dior Nude Chic is gorgeous! Adding it to my “must try” list! (Hopefully still available) Great feature!

  2. Rebecca says:

Argh I want the Dior shade! I need to hunt it down in my search for the perfect nude. Hopefully it’s available in the UK…I think that one is the the best match for Kyl’s skintone although they are all gorgeous.

  3. Debzy says:

That Dior looks really classy! I’ve not had much luck with Dior polish in the past though – I find that they really don’t wear well…

  4. ReaderRita says:

Dior has done some version of this shade since the 1970′s! I wore a Dior nude almost exactly that shade as a high schooler in 1979- and I LOVED it! I always think of a ballerina’s hands. Elegant and graceful.

  5. Hannah says:

I love Tickle My France-y, its going on my list!

  6. I’m also NW15 and Tickle My France-y looks pretty nice. Not an exact match to my skin, but something I’d actually wear.

Thanks Trinity! I contacted ebay and they should end the auction if the seller doesn’t comply. What a pain!

  7. queenfrostine says:

I’m really hating this trend! I don’t think it looks flattering on anyone. I’m not a fan of nude shades in general, though OPI Tickle My France-y has made an exception of itself by worming its way into my affections.

  8. Kike K says:

Lippmann shade is surely my favourite. I like its very natural shade. Once in a while it’s nice to take a break fom the usual dark colour varnishes.

  9. Lauren says:

Dior Nude Chic is perfect for the look. I don’t think the other 2 even come close for this skin tone. I definitely don’t hate mannequin hands, but I also don’t think I’ll ever rock it. :)

  10. Katie says:

I’m with queenfrostine, not a big fan either.

  11. TLM says:

Although I like it, the Lippmann one is too light for this trend, and reflects more of a trend of the 90′s for french manicure-style sheers. Brucci had one called Princess Di that I used to wear a lot. This trend calls for darker, more exact skin matches. I have used Finger Paints’ Putty in My Hands in the past for this.

Arrrgh! I don’t speak MAC. Does anyone have the translation to BareMinerals FairlyLight?
