3-year-anniversary Happy New Year Fanatics!!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and brought in the new year with a lot of fun and style.  I know I’m so excited to put 2009 behind me and move forward into 2010.  One thing worth celebrating… All Lacquered Up’s 3rd Anniversary!

Can you believe it’s been 3 years already?  I certainly can’t.  When I started this blog it was such a random thing.  I could never have dreamed what this would all turn into.  I was amazed to find out anyone was even reading it.

I seriously feel so blessed to have all of you come back, time and again, to hear what I have to say about polish and share my passion with me.  I’m thankful for the amazing opportunities ALU has brought me and the joy I get from being able to blog about what I love.  Thank you for coming on this journey with me and all your support.

So as I prepare to blow out the candles on my virtual cake, I’d like to make a polish wish for 2010.  Three years gets me three wishes, right?  Here is what I’d love to see…

1. Please for the love of all that is polish, someone make us an Emerald Green HOLO!!

2. Don’t let the green nail trend slow down anytime soon.  I’m in heaven and I don’t want to come down.  Thank you to all the brands that continue to amaze me with their greens.  What have you got to amaze us next??

3. China Glaze old buddy, old pal, old friend… can you find it in your hearts to give me what I’ve been asking for?  A black glass-flecked polish?  I know we’ve discussed this in the past and we’re all waiting with bated breath.

Now let’s hear your polish wishes for 2010.  What is desperately missing from your stash?  What kind of collections do you want to see?  Do you have a fave ALU post from the past three years?  Join me in the celebration with your comments!

    Congrats on your anni!!

  2. Sarah says:

Since really falling into polish in the last year I’d love to see amazing polishes like Zulu and 230 return so I can buy them! It would be so great to get the opportunity to own and experience something as stunning as 230 w/o paying hundreds for it.

    • All Lacquered Up says:

Well, one of your wishes will come true. No official launch date has been set but Zulu will make a return in 2010. I have no set details to share yet but that’s the buzz on the interwebs.

  3. Maggie says:

I’m just starting out myself on my blog, and I can’t imagine hitting 3 years or what it will be like–So you must be ecstatic and amazed! Congratulations! You deserve it for all your hard work!

  4. Kelsey says:

Continuing on the green trend, two discontinued green polishes that I’d love to see come back are Essie’s Dominica Green and OPI’s Rainforest. I’ve been coveting these for awhile now, but I can’t afford to pay $30-$40 on eBay for one bottle!

  5. OK #1, that news about Zulu is freakin groundbreaking!!!!! OMG! I can’t wait! I am ordering that ASAP!!!!

And #2, my wishes are a lot like yours. May I continue to have green polish released as frequently as it was in 2009. Emerald green holo, I would wear it every day and buy 3 bottles. And a black glass-flecked polish sounds hot!

  6. Thess says:

    Happy third anniversary!

    A toddler weblog! ;)

  7. Miss Merx says:

Happy Birthday ALU!! I can’t remember when I first started reading your blog but its been a trip! Its such a great thing to watch someone with the passion you have to accomplish so much in the nail world in such a short time. I can’t imagine how you must have felt to have your name immortalised in polish and then to have your own collection!! Not to mention the influence you have had on companies to listen to their customers. Just fantastic! Glad to see your hard work and all the time you must put into your blog et al, has paid off. Well done.

My nail polish wish for 2010 is for Essie to begin selling Starry Starry Night again. I saw a bottle go for $135 on eBay in December. Clearly there’s a huge demand for it.

If I could have a second wish, it’d be more of a dream… to find a Chanel Jade polish for less than the $100 plus on eBay. I really love green polish.

Happy Anniversary ALU! Congratulations on three years of success!

  9. Colette says:

    Congratulations on your 3rd blogiversary-bday =)

My polish wishes for 2010: Amethyst Pumps. I’m sure you can guess what it would look like LOL =) Also maybe a return of Revlon Street Wear, I’ve been seeing old bottles on a lot of blogs lately & it’s making me nostalgic.

    • SalvagedExpression says:

Off topic but I’m actually wearing Street Wear Chick right now. I’ll have to swing through the blogs to see who else is digging that far back!

  10. Styrch says:

Congratulations! I can’t believe it’s been 3 years since! I feel like you have been my polish guru for much longer, though. You still are my number one source for info!

My Polish Wish – I’m with ya on the glass-flecked black and if anyone can do it it would be China Glaze. Also for a foil finish trend to start going full force. I love me my foils!

  11. Aurora says:

Happy birthday/anniversary ALU! I’ve been coming here for two years and I’m never disappointed. Congratulations on your success…you’re a great role model and polish fiend!

  12. Suji says:

    Congrats on 3 years!
My wish is for Essie to re-release Starry Starry Night… sigh

  13. Grace says:

Congrats! This has quickly become one of my very favorite blogs (and my polish collection has tripled since I started reading).

My polish wish would be for a Sally or an Ulta to open up in NYC! Luckily we have Duane Reades and Rickys for OPI and Essie, but I’m always ordering everything else on line. Thank goodness for your blog with all the fabulous swatches or I’d be clueless! (How is it that in the city where you can get “thai food delivered at 3am” you can’t find a bottle of ruby pumps????).

  14. MinderMutsig (Kirsten) says:

    Happy blogger birthday!

  15. Congrats! x
That is so cool! Thank you for your amazing blog :)

  16. Samantha says:

    Happy Anniversary!

I have a few polish wishes. One, I’d absolutely *love* to have white polish and yellow polish that is neither sheer nor streaks and drags. Two, I’d love it if L’Oreal would bring back their Bijous, and add a few new colors. And three, I’d really love it if Sally Hansen would update their website with the latest colors in their nail polish products.

  17. Edyta says:

    Happy Anniversary Michelle!
I’ve followed your blog since last year and have read the entire blog since January 2007. Thank to you I’ve become a real polish fanatic and I’m very happy abut that :o)
I wish you a lot of time for sharing forward your passion with us!!!

  18. Meika says:

Even though I have only found you a month ago I want to wish you a Happy anniversary and I too wish for more greens and a coral that won’t morph into pink or red on my NC50 complexion.

Oh and more creams that are like butter.

  19. TropicalChrome says:

    Happy Blogiversary!

What I want: China Glaze Emerald Sparkle in a medium dark purple and a not-too-dark navy blue. Blurple too :).

  20. Nicki says:

My wishes for 2010 – another OPI Colourcopia, but this time with the re-release of colours like Rainforest, Creme de Menthe, Golf Course Green, Black Magic Mountain, Black Tie Optional – you get the idea. The colours us fans REALLY want to see. Does anyone else think that last year’s Colourcopia was the biggest let-down EVER!

  21. jackie says:

    Congrats on your anni!
Will you be doing a 2009 Favs post?? I’ve been checking the site everyday hoping to find it :)

  22. Alllison says:

yes, I agree with the “don’t-please-go-greens.” I’m just vamping up my emerald collection now.

  23. Gladys says:

I want Essie Starry Starry Night :( And happy 3rd year to ALU!

  24. rijaH says:

A big congratulations on “your” birthday ;)

I would like some purple flakies from CG and sooo many more holos(you cant get enough of those) :D
I was just wondering reading your post that why you didn’t make a holo emerald when you were doing those RBL polishes? Was there like a limitation on what you could do? Or is that color something you thought of after it? :)

    • All Lacquered Up says:

Thanks! There were no limitations from RBL, I just didn’t want to do a green or a holo with Ji. She is known for her chic style and amazing creme polishes and it seemed wrong to create anything but a perfect creme with her.

  25. Solveig says:

    Happy birthday, ALU! :D

I want more of everything! :D Haha. But not mint green, I think it’s time to find another IT-color. :)

  26. Princesss says:

I am with you on the wish for a black glass flecked polish. I would love that!

  27. Edelmc says:

I am loving your blog – i discovered it while on maternity leave and have been glued to it since!

    my polish wishes would be….
Essie to rerelease starry starry night

OPI/China Glaze/Essie to release a teal cream (not too blackened but some thing along the lines of RBL Teal). I love this colour but would love to see it from a more affordable/accessible brand. I can’t justify $38 for shipping alone

    More duochromes!

  28. Vanessa says:

    Congrats to turning 3!!
I adore your blog; I read every time you post. Keep up the good work!

    Vanessa

  29. melli says:

Congrats on the anniversary, Michelle! It was finding your blog that started my fanaticism with nail polish. I have always been a fan of polish, but my collection grew after seeing your swatches, and links to other wonderful blogs too. Keep up the excellent work!

Count me in on the Starry Starry Night bandwagon. That is the last major lemming that I have right now. Zulu would be cool, but I have a lot of greens (at least 20). How about more holos in rich jewel tones? Or, a non-streaky yellow? Or bright chrome finishes, rather than just light metallics or pastels? Eep, guess I do have a lot of lemmings after all :).

    • All Lacquered Up says:

Totally, we need jewel tone holos. I wonder why no brand has done that yet. If it’s hard to create.

  30. ReaderRita says:

Congrats on the anniversary! Yay! 3 years- that’s awesome! May you have many more anniversaries! I’ll be here! The Zulu news is wonderful- certainly why should evilBay scalpers make the money that a polish producer could make by reissuing a color? Plus, I agree with pretty much everything else that has been said so far- and your idea for a emerald green holo (yeah!), I would expand to include any medium to dark green. After that, my next wish would be: a return to form with Urban Decay polish- no offense to them, but the colors in the release to reintroduce their polish line were quite pedestrian. I loved the old weird stuff! Duochromes and Quadrachromes! Yes! Occupy the interesting/experimental niche, UD! And yeah, Revlon needs to do the same with StreetWear. Can’t understand why either of those companies discontinued their lines to begin with…
    Oh, lemmings galore!
Thank you for 3 wonderful years!

    • All Lacquered Up says:

Yes! I’d like to see a return to the funky colors of UD past. We need an email campaign or something. Oh and StreetWears too. I can’t bear to give mine up, even though some of them apply for shit.

      • ReaderRita says:

Yup, I have a 20 year old(!) bottle of SW that is my favorite polish, anywhere, ever- and it’s all gloopy- but I’ll never get rid of it. I only wear it for special occasions.
And also, thanks for flying the green polish banner! I’m so happy that polish companies are listening to you and are providing us with more options! You rock!
        Yay!

  31. Jocelynn says:

    Happy Anniversary!!

  32. caterina says:

Congrats, ALU. I’m an addict without a blog. (I started one, and erased it without knowing how. I’ll probably be back …) :)) But I’ve been following you, and you and Scrangie’s polish is waiting for me when I get back home.

I have a dream-polish: Vanilla yellow with tiny, tiny black dots. Like … uhm; vanilla!

  33. Teri says:

Congrats! You were the very first nail blog I kept up on that told me my nail addiction wasn’t just me! Keep up the wonderful work!
