barielle-wildflower-collection-spring-2010 For spring 2010, get rooted into style with six new nail polish hues from Shades by Barielle. The Wildflower Collection blooms with floral-themed colors and Barielle’s signature healthy “3-free” formulation. Lending a helping hand to root out ovarian cancer, 100% of proceeds from three shades from the collection will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund when purchased at www.ocrf.org.

Launching this February, the Wildflower collection from Shades by Barielle includes three polishes designed by Creative Director Elle to help fight Ovarian Cancer.  With two blues and two greens including some unique glitter accents, I’m smitten with the charitable concept and the colors.  The collection doesn’t launch for a couple months but I’ve got a preview of the bottles and Junebug for you to check out.

barielle-wildflower-ovarian-cancer-myrza-junebug-ava Three of the six polishes benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research FundA Bouquet for Ava, Junebug and Myrza’s Meadow (named for Jennifer Lopez’s beloved aunt).  100% of the proceeds from the purchase of these polishes go to the OCRF when you buy directly from their website www.ocrf.org.  And honestly, they are the three coolest colors in the bunch.  The vivid teal of Ava, the multi-colored glitter in Myrza and my top pick, Junebug.  I couldn’t wait to show you Junebug so I did a quick swatch before applying my holiday manicure.

Junebug is named for Elle’s dear friend June.  She is a grayed teal shimmer with flecks of fuchsia glitter peppered throughout.  The base color has a sand-washed feel, in the same way that Slate of Affairs does but it’s the glitter that really makes it unique.  I have definitely not seen a color like this before.  It applies a lot like Slate of Affairs as well.  It has that squishy jelly texture and some thickness but it evens out well and is pigmented enough to only require two coats.

I took this photo in artificial light so you can see the subtle shimmer in the base color.

Thank you for posting a swatch. Junebug is fabulous! I love the red glitter and aqua sparkle! That is a must have. A Bouquet For Ava, Junebug, and Myrza’s Meadow are all on my list- I’m worried that Snap Dragon would be too much like other frosty/pearly greens. Blossom just isn’t my thing, and Darling Dahlia I’ll just have to see swatched. And after January 1st, that’ll be enough winter for me. I’ll be ready… bring on spring!
    Merry Christmas!

  2. Hi, thanks so much for all your hard work on this blog! I discovered this blog about a year ago, and I love looking at your high quality pictures– I am always lemming the gorgeous colors!

I was wondering whether you minded if I hyperlinked your blog on my blog (leakybuckets.blogspot.com). I recently posted something on Alice in Wonderland beauty products, and I wrote, “AllLacqueredUp’s blog here has swatches,” with a link on the word “here.” Please let me know if you would prefer for me to not have these hyperlinks. Your nail swatches are among the best that I’ve ever seen, so I figured no need for me to duplicate the work– and at a subpar level– if you’ve already done it. Of course, I want to make sure you receive your due credit, hence the hyperlinking.

Thanks again, and happy New Year!

TY for posting this swatch! I don’t think Junebug is for me – while I really like the combination of the base color and the color of the glitter, I’d prefer if it were a creme base rather than a shimmer and if it had denser glitter. However, based on those bottle pics I’m loving A Bouquet for Ava… I’m a huge fan of teals!

  4. Wendy says:

OMG!!! I looooove these! can’t wait till Feb. Thank you for the sneak peek! :] Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’s!

  5. Elizabeth says:

Oh man! Myrza’s Meadow is so pretty…like a meadow with wild flowers growing all around. I WANT!!!

  6. Cindi says:

I love these colors! My grandma had ovarian cancer and died from it when I was 3. Back then there wasn’t an awareness of it and it was often overlooked. I love all three of the colors supporting it, the whole collection is beautiful and I can’t wait to see them swatched. I think snapdragon looks a little too frosty for me, but the others look to die for.

  7. Jennifer A. says:

Wow, I love these colors, especially the three that benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. That is so amazing that they are donating all of their proceeds – I will probably buy the whole line solely to support that concept! I really hope you swatch this collection, of all the spring collection’s you have previewed, this is the one I’m most excited about. Thanks, as always, for the gorgeous swatch!

  8. Arrianne says:

Oh these are lovely. I’ll definitely be getting some of these.

    Happy Holidays Michelle:

Wow! What a great year you had. Love this collection and the very idea that three of the nail polishes from Barielle 100% of the proceeds will go to benefit the OCRF. That’s exceptional of them to do that. I will definitely need to order those three polishes, especially for the OCRF.

I sent this post to “Teal Toes” on their face book page to let them know to look out for this collection in February 2010. I just want to say that your web blog has been extraordinary and awesome. As a man who is a nail polish fanatic it’s always to treat to follow your posting and comments. I am positive 2010 will be even better.

    (((Love Michelle))

This is so exciting! New teal colors for folks to use to raise awareness of ovarian cancer! Please check out http://www.TealToes.org

  11. amy says:

Junebug is cute! It reminds me of a glittery and shimmer version of Sephora OPI’s Ocean Love Potion. From this collection, I also like Myzra’s Meadow and Snap Dragon.

  12. Virginia says:

These colors are beautiful! I also love that they are donating proceeds to the OCRF. A friend of mine died of ovarian cancer at a very young age so this is a great way to some support to an important cause. Even though I am not a huge fan of Barielle due to their chiptastic quality, I think I will buy the entire collection anyway. Thanks for sharing :)

  13. Kelsey says:

Junebug: I love the subtle shimmer in the basecoat, but I think that the fuchsia glitter clashes too much.

Do we get to see swatches of the rest of the collection?

  14. Abby says:

Thanks for the gorgeous swatch! I’m definitely buying this–if not the whole collection. I don’t have anything that even looks similar to any of those 6 colors! I especially would like to see Myrza’s Meadow.
Love that they’re for a good cause, too.

  15. Camille says:

What a great cause to support through purchasing these polishes. Junebug is beautiful and i hope to see a swatch of Myrza’s Meadow, it looks great!

  16. Jen says:

Wow. This is one spring collection I am actually liking!
Junebug? Gorgeous. And the shimmer! Love it.
I want to see Meadow and I want to see it VERY badly indeed!

  17. Anna says:

These colours are amazing and for such a good cause. Your swatches were really helpful. I think I want the whole collection. I don’t think Barielle is available in Canada in shops, will have to buy online.

  18. igswonderworld says:

I love the idea of Junebug!! But maybe I’d put more fuchsia glitter in it.. Someone should try to create a crazy version of Junebug with tons of glitter!! :P Also for such a meaningful cause. I can’t wait for these to arrive!
