Welcome to This Week in ALU Pol-history a series where I transport you a la Mr. Peabody’s WABAC (wayback) Machine to check out my favorite past polish posts. Newbies and old school Fanatics, take a look and see what you’ve missed!

November 2008
I recapped my visit to the NYC Lancome Boutique and shared pics of their C’est Magnifique Holiday polishes and my vampy lipstick discovery.

Givenchy’s Purple By Night
from the Nightlights holiday collection made my purple loving heart swoon.

I discovered an amazing brand of haircare, New York Streets, that is so good it get’s my “As Amazing As Polish” stamp of approval.

November 2007
We discussed the fashion crime known as “Toes & Hose” and a solution to stop the insanity of it all.

I helped my fellow blue polish lovers out with a comparison of OPI’s best blues of the year.

The 2007 Sephora Holiday catalog caused a frenzy when they used NARS Zulu on their cover girl.

As I stated yesterday, I experienced my first roller derby bout last night. I went to watch my friend (aka Holly Huntress) compete with the Black team in a charity bout benefiting Toys For Tots and Coats For Kids. It was a lot of fun and in the very last seconds, Team Black pulled out a victory by 1 point.

I have to say, watching the “fresh meat” play full contact musical chairs was probably my favorite part. Those girls were not playing around. I heard the announcer say, “there’s blood on the floor and the chair,” while the refs ran out with towels. That’s no joke!

Right now, I’m testing a new brand of polish that I can’t wait to tell you about. I’ll share more on that later in the week. In the meantime, what’s on your nails Fanatics?

I'm wearing Rescue Beauty Lounge Stormy. I've had this since around May and am just now wearing it. Winner! Even my boyfriend has commented on it TWICE. Definitely going into heavy rotation.

  2. Sara says:

I'm wearing OPI's Yoga-ta Get This Blue. I love that it's dark, but it's still blue (as opposed to another navy I have that looks black most of the time). :)

  3. Lisa says:

Going old school this week with OPI Eiffel For This Color (and Zoya Richelle on the toes).
Michelle, did you ever swatch OPI's A Ruby For Rudolph from last holiday season? I LOVED it, but my bottle dried up due to a not-quite-on cap :-( I'm trying to figure out if Ruby Pumps from CG will be a close enough dupe that I can take that over some contraband auction bottles of Rudolph.

I'm wearing Color Club Wild & Willing. Amazing coppery shade!

  5. Susan says:

Just got Sephora by OPI's Absinthe Makes the Heart last week. It's a gorgeous green-gold with micro-glitter. Love it!

  6. Mel says:

Embarrassingly, I have an old Wet N' Wild bright (almost fluorescent) red on my nails from the weekend. The color is actually super cute (and I got it in a gift bag from my friend's bachelorette party last year). Although, it's nice and chippy this morning. lol

I am currently wearing Essie chinchilly, but will be swapping it out momentarily with OPIs Merry Midnight! I love the flakies in this one!

  8. Laura says:

China Glaze Strawberry Fields! I just got it and couldn't wait until warmer weather to break it out. So fun and pink!

I'm wearing OPI's Crepes Suzi-ette. I love this one when I have short nails.

  10. Shayla says:

I'm wearing China Glaze Drive In. Such a pretty, shimmery red!

I'm wearing Reflecting Pool by OPI with 1 coat of Golden Rainbow by OPI over it. I went to London a few weeks ago and got a lot of cool British exclusive OPI.
