I went to some roller derby shows years ago. The ladies were very different then. No lingerie and sexy images. These ladies were tough skaters. I loved the derby. I can't wait to see the movie with the roller derby in it.

Jeanne - It was so great running into you in NYC. That's so cool that you're joining derby. My friend loves it and plans out her polish for bouts. She was wearing one of the new China Glaze glitters last night. Her team is called the Cleveland Steamers which is sick and funny at the same time. Good luck with training!

Karen - Oh congrats on winning! That's amazing. You won the Loves you snow much set, right? And yes, check your Whole Foods for the polish. Mine seems to keep it on the lowest shelf in the beauty section.

Awesomevegan - How fun! Do you have other No-Miss colors? I hope you like the movie. I really enjoyed it. It was fun and sweet. I'm not the biggest Ellen Page fan but I have a girl crush on Drew Barrymore and just love Kristen Wiig. Juliette Lewis plays such a great bad girl.

Wixology - I'm so glad I could help. I just had to find out what she was wearing.

Anon - I'm not sure where you heard that but as far as I know and from the pictures I've seen, Dorothy Who is being re-released.

Madelyn - Let the countdown begin. Last night they announced that they do a Jr. roller derby here for girls 7-17. It's too bad they don't offer that where you are. At least you don't have that long to wait.

i'm only 17, and NYS law says i can't join roller derby until i'm 18 (with or without parental consent)

Yay, roller derby!! I'm actually training to get to the point to be called "fresh meat" — I didn't feel I was ready for try-outs this year (the last weekend of October), so I'm taking this year to get comfortable on my skates and work on my skills/fitness. It's awesome! (And yes, I'm already thinking about what polish I'd wear for bouts… depends on what team I'd be on!)
