sephora by opi, opi, sephora, nail polish, nail lacquer, nail color, autumn and eve, fall 2008OK kiddies! In addition to the gorgeous six color Autumn & Eve collection for Fall, SEPHORA by OPI is rolling out their core collection of shades as well. 48 nail lacquers ranging from sheers to vampies with a good sprinkling of fun & funky thrown in; it’s pretty diverse.

All but six of the polishes are shown below; in sunlight and shade. Unfortunately, the sheer/light palette broke in transit. It’s like they know I’m not a sheer girl. The missing shades include Private Access (soft white), Rumor Has It… (pale eggshell), Bare To Be Different (warm ecru), Can U Keep a Secret? (light custard), I Need Space (pale caramel), A True Romantic (cool light pink).

Personal Shopper, And a Cherry on Top, Sample Sale, Curve-aceous, Brunette on the Internet, Caffeine Fix
And Then He Said, Let’s Do Lunch, Casting Call, Nonfat Soy Half Calf, How Many Carats?, Dear Diary…
Skinny Jeans, A-ha! Moment, Fancy Schmancy, Note To Self, Cab Fare, Special Request
Charge It!, Queen of Everything, Social Climber, High Maintenance, What’s a Tire Jack?, Shopping Frenzy
It’s Somewhere in My Purse, Beauty Junkie, Ms. Can’t Be Wrong, Arm Candy, It’s All About Me, Domestic Goddess

The SEPHORA by OPI nail polish retails for $9 is available now on Sephora.com and starting to roll out into retail locations. Call your local store for availability.

Who sees some “must haves” in the group? What are they? I plan to scoop up Queen of Everything, Cab Fare, Note To Self, Skinny Jeans and Caffeine Fix.

Thanks so much for these swatches! I’ve definetely finally made up my mind about a couple of colors and know what to go after when I return to Sephora! I think they’ve done a great job with this core line; its pretty diverse and there are plenty of great options. =D

  2. Emelie says:

Thanks so much for these pictures! I can’t wait to see Charge it! It really caught my eye.

  3. Roberta S. says:

Thanks for the swatches. On the whole, this is a very pretty and well-rounded line. In real life, Queen of Everything and Note to Self were unexpected favorites. Although none of these core polishes are really unique, I’m looking forward to more seasonal collections and, at least, Sephora stores will have more to offer polish junkies.

Thanks for your hard work with the swatches! Now, if only JCPenney Sephora will get these.

  5. CSIJen says:

I love Wardrobe Change and Shopping Frenzy is a definite must for me! Thanks for sharing those!

  6. The Home Spa Goddess says:

I like Because I Said So and Brainiac

Well, I wonder how long it will take these to hit New Zealand’s shores (if ever!)? Thank all that’s good for eBay!!

    On my want list:
    Caffeine Fix
    Skinny Jeans
    What’s a Tyre Jack
    Beauty Junkie

I like the look of Opening Night, but it strikes me as being very similar to Yoga-ta Get this Blue from the India Collection. Any chance of a comparison swatch?

Thanks for the great photos – sample pallets, swatches, comparisons. It's wonderful to be spoiled!!

I just got the French collection minis – so I really appreciate the Metro Chic & Don't Go There comparisons to Parlez-vous OPI and You Don't Know Jacques.

I saw the Sephora by OPI collection really soon after it arrived in my community. I'm conscious of privacy so I won't identify my location. But, where I live, the deep blue Opening Night was not available, sold out. I will remember Opening Night when my India Collection Yoga-ta-get-this-blue runs out. They don’t have to be identical – a non-vampy deep blue looks nice on my toes when I wear chocolate brown trouser suits.

The other shades in the Sephora collection were available. The sales staff said that the collection was selling well.

I wonder if Skinny Jeans, which looked teal-like, is similar to Teal the Cows come home, an OPI shade which recently showed up in my community.

Overall, I thought it wasn’t a risk taking collection (that's not intended as a critcism). A large number of the pinks, reds and corals are wearable in lots of work environments. There’s one yellow, one orange, one deep blue, one teal, a smattering of silver and gold, some vampies. I would love to see the marketing research about Sephora clients.

    Time to sign off.

Brilliant – thanks for these! I’m actually pretty intrigued by some of the dark mauves – could be very nice for autumn/winter.

Wow! Just when I needed to see it, you come and post this. What would I do without you? Too bad the sheers broke tho, I was interested in those…

  12. Princess Malphaba says:

    Oh dearrrr.
I want most all of these….
    So gorgeous!

    *le sigh*

This blog is a dream come true! This is the type of sutff I can get behind :) I’m definitely going to get What’s a Tire Jack and Brainiac. I figure if I buy two a month, within a year I’ll have the whole collection. Love it!

I just saw all of the Sephora by OPI stuff yesterday at my local Sephora and it didn’t even look like a single polish had been bought, all of the slots were completely full. Oh well everyone else’s loss haha. I started to get Charge It and Queen of Everything because I was thinking of them maybe being dupes for Chanel’s Gold Fiction and Kaleidescope, but I had alot of other things I needed to get. I’m trying to find alternatives in advance just incase Gold Fiction is gone by the next time I make it to the mall again. I’ve been told OPI Curry Up Don’t Be Late is a good one. Do you think Charge it or Curry Up are good alternatives to Gold Fiction?

Outspokenwallflower – Have I told you before how much I love your screenname? I really do! Which colors are you getting?

Emelie – I need to pick up Charge It! as well. I’m hoping to hit my Sephora this weekend. *fingers crossed* that they have the collection in.

Roberta S. – I was never wowed by the Sephora line of polishes so I’m happy to see they will have something else to offer.

Honta – You have a JCPenney with a Sephora, lucky you!

CSIJen – You’re welcome! Let us know how you like those two when you get them.

    TheHomeSpaGoddess – Good choices!

  16. CincyFan says:

Nicki – My bottle of Yoga-Ta has gone missing. When I track it down, I’ll let you know how they compare.

Watcher – Thanks for your insight. If you’re looking for another great blue, try China Glaze Up All Night. One of my all-time favorites.

Anon #1 – Thanks for the info. I haven’t tried it myself but it’s a shame the application isn’t up to par.

Liz – I agree, there are a lot of great fall shades in the collection.

Anon #2 – You’re welcome. Glad I could be there for you. While I’m not a sheer wearer, I know a lot of people are so I was sad that they broke as well.

Malphaba – I’m with you girl. *le sigh* indeed. I may go broke picking up all the shades I want.

Joslyn – *blushes* you flatter me too much! But I love your purchase plan. Great thinking

Kirsten – Everyone’s loss indeed! You’re a lucky girl. I heard Metro Chic and a few other trendy shades are sold out and they’ve started waiting lists.

I was so happy to see my 2 favorites Sephora and OPI together at last. I have Not Enough Shoes and Let’s Do Lunch and I LUV EM! I have a cool Halloween thing going on with black toes and orange fingers….I haven’t decided which I wanna pick up next..but I eventually want them all…
