I bought Kaleidoscope last fall and absolutely loved the color when I first tried it. But I've been very disappointed by the polish quality. I've tried it several times since, and every time, within 24 hours, I get hairline cracks across each nail tip, followed by rapid chipping. This happens regardless of nail length, base coat, top coat. Am I the only one who's had this experience?

I tried out Gold Fiction and Kaleidoscope at the counter yesterday. On my Asian skin, Gold Fiction looked hideous. We clashed, let me tell you.

But Kaleidoscope, Kaleidoscope and I had a lacquer affair. Needless to say, I bought that one.

I wouldn't have ever tried both without seeing your swatch. Thank you!

Hi, I’ve been reading your great blog for some weeks now and let me tell you it’s amazing! Thanks for all your work!

I’m not impressed by this gold – for the same result without the ridiculous price tag, try Mavala Gold. Mavala polishes are not expensive at all and they are perfect staying power.

I like Chanel Kaleidoscope, but it seems similar to Chanel Platinum (a stunning chrome colour but so difficult to apply correctly!)

Great swatches michelle! Kaleidoscope is absolutely to die for. It looks like an gorgeous pewtwer silver-ish color. The gold is also stunning, but, I can see Kaleidoscope being the true winner.

The Chanel price really doesn’t bother me at all.

The only one I want is Kaleidoscope though. It is the perfect tamed look I need for toes for certain events.

Tiffany Evans- I understood your reference and very much appreciated it because even though I am a major Harry Potter fanatic, I didn’t even notice how “Gryffindorish” these colors were until I read your comment, now I have to buy them and either wear them when I go see Equus in Oct or when Half-Blood Prince comes out in Nov.

I’m so glad you tested out and posted these shades, because that is typically what helps me decide to buy or not buy a polish. Gold Fiction is screaming at me! Chanel is going to bankrupt me with Gold Fiction and LA Sunrise.

im disappointed. i thought kaleidescope was going to be GREEN. it looks silver. and gold for thirty dollars? there are a million golds out there…same with berry. dear chanel: your new collex is weak sauce.
