OPI Summer 2008 Preview – Mod About Brights

The Brights are back everyone! OPI is adding to their ever so popular Brights series with a set of 6 vivid creme polishes dubbed the Mod About Brights collection.

“The mod look is back in a fresh, new way, both in fashion and beauty,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “The six shades in Mod About Brights capture the fun and edginess of the mod ‘invasion’ of the Sixties, but with a bright twist that makes them exciting and current for 2008. And with fashion right now being all about color and vivid, graphic prints, these are the shades that are perfect for fingertips and toes.”

Yet again I’m getting giddy with delight over a fab looking green hitting the mass market. You know the frankeners on MUA will be adding black to Green-wich Village to try and duplicate RBL Recycle. And a royal blue creme… catch me as I swoon. If these cremes are as fantabulous as the ones from India, I’ll be in heaven. I’ve been on such a creme kick lately. Between that and my recent pink love you would think I had a polish lobotomy.

So here’s the line up and descriptions courtesy of OPI.
Mod-ern Girl – A pop of coral with more than 15 minutes of fame.
Brights Power – A brilliant orange that fashionistas find fab!
The “It” Color – This must-have yellow is the color to be seen in.
That’s Hot! Pink – Bright pink that sizzles with style.
Green-wich Village – A vivid green that’s downtown mod.
Dating a Royal – A royal blue that sets crowns spinning!

The Mod About Brights collection retail for $8.50 ($9.50 CAN) and will be avaiable in May at salons including the major chains; Beauty First, Beauty Brands, JCPenney, Dillard’s, Regis, Pure Beauty, Ulta, and Trade Secret.

I just discovered this blog and LOVE IT! Who knew there were other polish obsessed people! And I love that you are from Cleveland, so am I! I am surprised you don’t cover Spa Ritual more, it is an awesome brand. Zoya is my favorite, though, and I didn’t know they were from Cleveland, also!

WOW! I have had a caution from my loved ones that I will ruin myself buying all these nail polishes but I really really need the blue one of these!! :)

I was in Orlando, FL over the weekend, and saw them at an Ulta, so I guess they are already out. The green and blue looked particularly good…plus, all the nail polish was buy 2, get 1 free…

  10. CincyFan says:

I saw the collection on display at my ULTA too. The green and blue are to die for!! I so excited. I don’t have them yet but when I do you’ll get swatches. Hopefully before the week is out!

I love the “Green-wich Village” and “That’s Hot! Pink”!

I just e-mailed H2TB.com to see if they’ll be getting them in anytime soon, so hopefully they’ll get them shortly in any case.

    I love that it’s summer!

I can’t wait to see the swatches – from the in-the-bottles photos
“Green-wich Village” looks like a really different green option. I think I’ll have to get it for a green to wear this summer, plus both “That’s Hot! Pink”! and
“Dating a Royal” (once I see your swatches, of course, because they DO help so much, thanks).

  13. Lauren says:

Oooo, I want Green-wich Village for a hot-weather green (especially after CG Outta Bounds stained my nails). Brights Power is the perfect answer for the summer orange trend, and I’d love to layer Chanel Azur over Dating a Royal. Can’t wait for the swatches!

  14. Christy says:

I just picked up Green-Wich Village and absolutely ADORE it against my NC44 skin. I can’t wait to rock it on my toes at the beach!

  15. Lena says:

I ordered all 6 shades and so far, I think I’m keeping 5! The bright yellow isn’t for me, but boy oh boy the rest surely are!! Such a fresh collection! Love it!
