Fanatic Feedback – Matching Tips and Roots?

By on March 4, 2008

So I was reading this post from the Jet Set Girls about matching your nail polish to your hair color. She wore Naturally Rich from MAC’s N Colour Collection and had people comment on how well it worked with her auburn locks. To be honest, I’ve never thought about that pairing. Only about how the color works with my skin tone or outfit. Just off the top of my head, I think that Misa Chocolate Icing would be my hair match due to it’s reddish undertone.

What about you? Have you ever purposely matched your tips to your roots? What lacquer best matches your tresses?

I would have to go with Sally Hansen’s Haute Chocolate cause of it’s gold and brown tones….

OPI London Bridge is Falling Brown =)

Nope, I’ve never matched polish to my hair. I have matched my glasses (coppery bronze) and lipstick (orangey red/burgundy) in the past to my hair. Or at least complimentary shades: green eye liner or mascara, peach blush.

My hair’s dyed a moderate auburn. I don’t think I actually have a nail polish that would match it. I do have a polish that matches my glasses.

Interesting concept! But unfortunately for me, I’d be stuck with the jet black polish from seasons past ; )

Hmm… never thought of trying that! But, anon’s recommendation for “Haute Chocolate” would come pretty close.

Probably 2 shades darker of OPI Espresso Your Style. But in the sunlight, it would look exactly like it! I flash gold/reddish tones in the sun

Very interesting and cute idea, but I don’t think anyone makes a dirty blonde color polish, haha. :) Maybe a gold would work, though. Hmmmm.

Funny you mentioned their post because I featured it on my blog today. Great bloggers think a like!

Anyways, it has never crossed my mind. OPI Espresso your style would probably be close for me.

Never. Never, ever. I’m a bright artificial blonde and my hair is only part of my color.

    Yes I have!
I constantly searching for the perfect red to match my coloured red hair.
I wonder when I’ll find my perfect one!? It’s not easy :)

Wow, I’ve actually never thought of that before! My hair would be very hard to match, unfortunately. I have golden/dirty blonde hair, not too many polishes that could pull off an exact match. ;D

I have! I have! I sometimes wear San Francisco, which matches my hair, which matches my car.

    I am a huge nerd.

I’ve never thought of matching my polish to my hair. I have golden/dirty blonde hair, and it has so many different colors in it. Looking through my collection, the closest I can find would be Lippmann No More Drama and OPI Up Front & Personal. Maybe even OPI Charmed by a Snake, to a certain extent… it has that gold shimmer to it.
