Creative Use Of Nail Polish Award – Big Brother 9

Some of you may remember me gushing about my love for CBS’ Big Brother. Well, it’s been back on the air for a few weeks now but with a couples twist for season 9 to not only speed up the game but increase the drama. Dubbed “Til Death Do Your Part,” this season finds the BB house with a winter “cabin in the woods” makeover complete with a spa room filled with nail polish.
From what I can tell, their stash is comprised of N.Y.C polishes, with the labels removed of course. And while there have been many chat sessions taking place in the spa as the girls manicure and pedicure themselves, one house guest in particular has found some creative uses for the lacquer. Natalie, the Bikini Barista from Oregon, dabbles in art when she isn’t flaunting her goodies for drive-thru customers. It’s her love of painting that inspired the use of polish to paint portraits of her fellow housemates.

The finished product. A portrait of Joshua

Also since Big Brother deprives the house guests of many everyday items, including paper and pen, Natalie turned to polish and napkins to take notes about different items in the house. It’s her study guide for future competitions. Now I’ve always thought that Big Brother frowns on this type of thing, thus the lack of pens. I’m curious to know if they’ll take it away.

OK so who else is watching this season? Any cast favorites? Do you like this year better or worse than past Big Brothers?

I watched the episode when she painted the piture of Josh. I thought she did a pretty good job. Other than that I havent watched any of this show.

I HATE this season! All of these people are just so shallow that they’re boring to watch. Even their fighting is just attitude, not substance. ….sigh…..where’s Dick when you need him?

  3. DAVINA says:

I don’t watch BB but the portrait is great!

I think it is funny that they have so much nail polish this season. My boyfriend pointed it out to me on Sunday. It seemed like Chelsia had a bunch with white caps that could have been Essie, and there were some shaped like MAC, too.

I don’t like any of these people, but it is fun watching them.

I love BB!! I noticed all the nail polish in the spa room… I was wondering if they had ever provided anything like that in previous seasons (cuz if they did, we never saw it). Natalie’s pictures are a fun idea… I think that’s something I would do if I was cooped up in the BB house. I made my college roomie a picture with eyeshadow one time… :D

Tonight’s episode was AWESOME… love that Josh’s plan to backdoor Matt was thwarted!

HATE HATE HATE this season. Don’t even watch anymore. Loved it last year – EVIL DICK!!!! Now all the people all look like they have bad breath – it’s becoming more like “flavor of love” and less like the previous seasons(s) modifided version of “the real world”. They better have lots of sanitizers in that spa room!

Gail S and Anon – I’m with you, this season is not as good as the others. I guess that’s what happens when they throw a season together on the fly. Joshua and his couple of blowups are a pale comparison to the genius that was Evil Dick.

I’m still watching because I love BB but I HATE all the people, especially Natalie. Have any of you watched the After Dark on Showtime? If you did, you’d hate Natalie even more. I put it on in the background at night when I’m online and she’s like a puppy following Matt around and spewing the dumbest crap out of her mouth. The nail polish art is fun but it would be better if she was mute!

DQ2 – I didn’t notice any white caps. I’ll have to pay better attention.

jb – I know they’ve had polish on previous seasons but I always assumed it was stuff they brought. Though I know as a previous live feed subscriber that they request beauty products in the diary room as the season progresses and they run out of stuff. I’ve seen them bitching about the cheap brands the producers buy. So maybe the polish was provided but never on display like it is this season.

See, I hated how crappy Matt was when the veto meeting ended. I realize it sucks to have people plotting against you but Matt, Adam and Ryan are stupid if they think their group can run the house. Have they never watched BB before? There’s always a strong group that thinks they’re in charge and that’s just when some weak person wins HOH and flips the script. I can’t wait to see it happen to them.

  8. Melanie says:

Yes, Matt was so full of himself after that veto meeting. I liked when Ryan told him to stop and he apologized, though. I think it is funny that Ryan went against the house and said he wasn’t going to be anyone’s bitch. We’ll see how that works out for him…

  9. CincyFan says:

Melanie – I liked Ryan shutting him down too but the truth is Ryan is everyone’s bitch. He’s the only one without a partner in the game so he really is stuck in the middle of two equal groups. He just decided to give into the guys cuz they are his “boys” but in the end I think he would be the odd man out.

Though you can bet that if Joshua or Chelsia get HOH, Ryan and Matt will be on the block in a second.

  10. "Tink" says:

Nat can really work that polish. I think she has painted almost everyone in the house.

My fave seasons are 6,7,8 so that tells enough to know that this season blows IMO.

However, I am still watching. LOL
It’s not that bad just all this let’s get along crap and then they stab each other in the back. Stop trying to get along and the game will work. I’ll never understand how people who hardly watch BB really think they can play the game. Then you have people who do watch and they get voted out right away. I’ll never figure that out.

    Now back to polish:
I’ve been trying to figure out what Chelsia is wearing. I was thinking that sometimes it looks close to OPI Who are wearing and then other times it just looks like a really deep creme purple.
