Fanatic Feedback is a new feature here on All Lacquered Up. It’s your chance to share your thoughts on all things lacquer related with the manufacturers, fellow fanatics and me.

First up, your personal wishes for the 2008 polish year. Are there certain colors, formulas, finishes or themes you’d like to see? What about in the realm of hand and foot care or nail treatments? Any improvements or specific needs you feel need to be addressed? Sound off!

I’d love to see an OPI collection Based on the British Isle–loaded up with luscious greens and other earth tones.

  2. Girlie from Sweden says:

I have looked for the perfect nail polish for years and still haven’t found it. I want the perfect silver colour (“mirror reflections”), it shall dry quickly and stay on the nail for a week.

  3. queenjedi says:

I know many, many gals (myself included) would love to have a re-release of the entire China Glaze Ooh Ahz collection, and with a green, a black, a teal, and an orange added to it as well :)

As for colors in general – teals, greens, yellows are all on my wish list. I would also love to see more dark holos like OPI My Private Jet.

I wish for cuticles are are neat and smooth . . . just like yours! What good is a wonderful polish if your cuticles are yucky? I’d love to see your thoughts on maintaining luscious cuticles on both hands and feet. Summer’s coming, after all!

I’m with queenjedi on the dark holos thing..but they need to make it so other no0tice the holo! not just us! MPJ is only apparent when you make someone look at it.

and HELLO can we please get a dupe of NARS Zulu?! a better formula as well…china Glaze or Opi needs to get on that.

and I am SO tired of darks that look black on the nail!

I’m with Sealed on the “almost black” thing. Darks are great, but it would be nice to see some lines that make better use of pigments instead of just adding black to everything. And I may be alone in this one, but I wish there was some way to make shaping my nails easier, like a tape on guide or something. I can file them all the same way and some will be squoval, some will be square, and some will just be messy. It takes me forever to get a uniform length and shape. And I wish all the brands I use – OPI, Essie, China Glaze, Carolyn New York – would work on consistency in thickness.

My wish may already exist — so fill me in :) — I want a sand-colored matte (like a neutral) that applies in two coats to cover the white part of my nail. Color comparison might be … OPI Fiji Weejee Fawn w/o the frost. Essie’s lighter colors just don’t lay down on my nails that well (I have no idea what that’s about) and more than two coats just doesn’t ever really dry well (maybe climate? I’m in humind FL). Thanks! Molly

better formula-not so goopy please, YES! a dupe of nars zulu please and greens that ARENT neon or light colored! there are very few greens out there that are darker.most of the ones i find are mint or neon-enough already! i would like someone to make an EGYPT collection, redo the MEXICO collection please…more variety of holos, and dupes of colors like Black Magic Mountain and other HTF’s. i would also like UD to come out w/ np’s again-please!! essie: be more creative;better formulation for your nudes/sheers. creative nail design: how about u sell in more LOCAL salons/stores(north county san diego please!!) and MAC-enough of the LE’s! its madness :)

I want a matte topcoat. Is that really too much to ask out of life? :)

i would love to get my hands on some of lancomes le magnetique as everywhere i try it”s sold out! and i just gotta have it!

For 2008 I would like… sparkly polishes that aren’t gritty. The only one who’s managed to do it is Chanel (I’m wearing Pink Satin right now and it’s stunning) but I refuse to pay $25 for Chanel when OPI should’ve done this already. I too would love more green polishes, especially a dark green that *isn’t* a frost or shimmer! And my quest for a gold polish that is opaque, non-goopy, and non-shimmery continues…

  12. Janey says:

All of the commenters so far have great ideas/wishes for ’08- non-gritty sparkly polish, dark holos,a PERFECT silver (no streaks!), etc, & especially, as “Anonymous” said: ‘I wish for cuticles [that] are neat and smooth… just like yours!”
I’m still a novice, & not totally up-to-date in my tastes yet… but personally, I love blue polishes & want to see COOL blue polishes, light, medium & dark. There really aren’t many great TRULY blue-violets available; lots of aquas, turquoises, navies.. some royal blues, some baby or sky-blues, a few teals, & a few periwinkles that are usually too sheer or too dulled-down for me.
Sorry to go on so, but- where are the true blue-violets & truly, 100%cool-toned blues? (I’d like a cool, vivid green-blue, too). Oh yes, & Happy 2008 to everyone!

  13. Andrea says:

I wish to be able to get my nails to shape properly, so i can actually wear the nail polish i have.

  14. Cindy says:

I agree with other commenters — a perfect, mirror-shine, non-streaky SILVER is a must. I have never found one that I love, and silver nails would be my “thing” if I could find a perfect polish.

A matte top coat would be cool too — sometimes I use CND stickey as a final coat and it’s a little matte, but it’s tacky so it doesn’t last long (just one evening, or whatever).

And — emerald green holo. yes, yes, yes.
