Essie Summer ’07 – Buckle Up!

New for summer 2007 comes the Buckle Up! collection from Essie. An interesting range of colors with fun names like Below The Belt & Chastity, I see a few colors I’ll have to pick up.

Between this collection and Starting Over, Essie is showing her sense of humor and whimsy while giving OPI a run for their money in the quirky names department.

The polishes are Below The Belt, Chastity, Click It or Ticket, Huckle Buckle, It’s A Cinch and Loophole.

I’ve seen a pic of Huckle Buckle and it’s a pretty mid-tone grapey purple with tiny pink and blue shimmer. That is a must have in my opinion. Loophole has potential to expand my silver selection, depending on the finish. And Below The Belt will be a winner for anyone interested in jumping on the white nail bandwagon as long as it’s opaque.

So has anyone seen these in stores yet? Opinions? I’ve heard that Trade Secret has them for sale. I’m hoping to pop by mine in the next few days and see them for myself.

My local nailshop got them a few weeks ago. All of the colors (except for below the belt, that was OOS) were very sheer, especially Below the Belt. I tried swatching on my finger, and it took a couple of coats there was so little pigment. I’m heading there tomorrow, and I’ll pick some up if you want, just MUA me. :D

I’m a big fan of Essie because the bottles are smaller and the colors much brighter, cleaner, and go on well too. I just wish they’d sign the safe cosmetics agreement! *sigh*

I bought Huckle Buckle on Sunday at a local boutique. I did not see it at Trade Secret the other day initially but then found it hiding behind some other stuff. Not sure what is up with that. I’m wearing HB today and someone at work told me it is a perfect spring color and that my nails look like an easter egg (which is good, I guess!)
