Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I see a lot of Essie recs. They really do make good sheers.

I've always thought of myself as neutral to warm toned but maybe I was completely off. This experiment is showing me that.

Bring back the purple or green! This totally looks like a staining problem to me. If you are going to do a nude, you must make it a shimmery one ;^)

Quick comment:

Perhaps that's the wrong sheer polish for your skin tone.

I am what's called "PPP," a decidedly pink skintone; I can shades some girls can't; I can wear purple/pink/raspberry, etc. In sheers, they must be pink to look natural.

Perhaps you also have a pinkish undertone, and need to stay away from peach/orange tones to avoid that 'dirty' look.

Also: you have wider nails (like I do). Darker polishes tend to make wide nails look more narrow, and thus, prettier. Sheer or pale polish makes wide nails look wider. It's that same old premise about dark colors seem slimming on larged sized girls.

A base coat also could help avoid that 'shadow' on the nails, cuticles and make the finish appear prettier.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I am also not a fan of this color on you.I wear sheers quite often (even though my favorite is a deep deep red). Sheers are my standby for when I have business meetings with clients and other work related functions. Essie Mademoiselle is a nice pinky sheer color that I finds looks good on everyone. That and Essie sugar daddy is nice too. Give those ones a shot!

It's funny all I wear 90% percent of the time is nude polish. But on you I like the darker polish better. I may have to leave my comfort zone and try something different. Great blog !
Leigh
http://beautyandfitness.blogsome.com
